Rising Stars: Meet Jennifer DiLucia of Pennsylvania

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer DiLucia.

Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi I started my Podcast called “Spill with Me Jenny D.” in January 2022. I decided after Covid it was time we talked about topics many of us are keeping silent. I know I was struggling with my own struggles of depression and feeling alone.

With a background in broadcasting and a passion for people, I created this podcast as part education, part inspiration, and part awareness.

I knew it was time to talk about topics like addiction, mental health, women’s health and so much more. I decided to take the leap and get back into the spotlight to pursue my lifelong passion – creating space for real conversations and meaningful connections. Throughout the years, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers have naturally opened up to me sharing their personal stories, struggles, and triumphs. That’s when I realized something powerful: healing begins when we talk about it. I wanted my audience to know they are not alone. It’s the conversations you didn’t know you needed … until now.

Everyone has a story and there might be someone listening that needs some help, inspiration or information to reclaim their life back.

Inspired by the raw, unfiltered moments, I created this podcast/show as an open forum for both men and women to express themselves freely -whether it’s to heal, to be heard, or simply to share a laugh. No topic is off limits, and every story has the potential to inspire someone else.

I also started a spin-off called “Midlife Mondays: The Hot Flash Hour with Jenny D.” in March 2025 I was struggling with Perimenopause/Menopause symptoms and had to help other women with their struggles. No one was talking about it!

I am on over 365 episodes and soon I will be celebrating 5 years. I never knew how much I needed this platform to help me and to really learn how to listen to my guests and be in the moment. If I can help one person I know I’m doing what I set out to do!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being older the technology was a struggle. I had to learn how to start my podcast on YouTube and the audio was really bad in the beginning. I started recording in my closet with blankets around me. My daughter was my first guest. I bought a microphone and used garage band to record and edit. I had my guests face-time me and I leaned my phone near the microphone. I have two beautiful barking beagles so I had to find a space to record. I started recording my show at Peters Township Library. I am nationwide but I really focus on my Pittsburgh people, zoom interviews were also a struggle.

Social media posting was not my thing. However, I’m starting to get the hang of it. I think lol

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I offer a platform to help people feel comfortable in an authentic space where real people share real stories. My guests share their struggles, successes, turning points, and everything in between. Most of my guests range from everyday people with powerful personal journeys to health experts, community leaders, entrepreneurs, non-profits, spotlighting small businesses and inspiring women making a difference. I’m known for being a natural storyteller and my guests always say how comfortable they feel sharing and opening up about something so intimate.

I am so proud of the ability to help people put their health first. I did Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October and I shared my scare where I needed extra testing. I stressed on social media to get your mammogram St. Clair Health sent me an email telling me 8 women went to get a mammogram after hearing from my show. I realized the power of sharing your own story can give someone that extra push to put their health first.

What sets me apart from others is that I started sharing stories almost 5 years ago with important topics we don’t talk about on most media platforms. I’m connecting people, amplify voices, and share stories that matter.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is spending time with my family. We love to have big dinners with our family and friends. My husband and children are supportive of my show and encourage me to keep going and never let anyone come between my passion. I never thought at 49 well now I’m 54, that I would find my passion and meet so many amazing people who want to share the mic with me. I stress to people to go for it and find your passion. We all need to find something that makes us happy.
