Hi Syreena, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Reena’s Sweet Shoppee started in 2020 from my love for baking and creating sweet treats for the people around me. What started as something I enjoyed doing quickly turned into something I realized I could build a business from.
In the beginning, I was learning as I went trying new recipes, practicing my decorating skills, taking orders, and figuring out what my customers loved. There were definitely moments when I questioned myself, but I continued to learn, grow, and push through.
Over the years, Reena’s Sweet Shoppee has grown from me simply baking from home into a brand where I offer custom cakes, cupcakes, dessert boxes, donuts, cake classes, and other sweet treats. I’ve also had the opportunity to teach others what I’ve learned, which has become one of my favorite parts of the business.
My journey hasn’t been perfect, and I’ve had seasons where I’ve had to step back, reevaluate, and make changes. But every challenge has taught me something about business, creativity, and myself.
Today, Reena’s Sweet Shoppee is more than just a baking business to me. It represents my growth, my creativity, and my willingness to keep going even when things get hard. I’m still building, still learning, and still dreaming bigger. My ultimate goal is to continue growing Reena’s Sweet Shoppee into a recognizable brand and eventually have a dedicated space where I can bake, teach, create, and bring my vision to life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been a lot of ups and downs throughout my journey. One of my biggest struggles has been learning how to balance being a business owner, a mom, working a job, and still making time for myself.
I’ve also struggled with the financial side of running a small business buying supplies, keeping up with expenses, pricing my products correctly, and learning that sometimes being busy doesn’t always mean you’re actually making a profit. I’ve had to learn how to set boundaries, raise my prices when necessary, and stop being afraid to charge what my time and talent are worth.
There have also been times when I felt burnt out or questioned whether I should keep going. Taking a step back has taught me that resting doesn’t mean I’m giving up. Sometimes you have to pause, regroup, and come back with a clearer vision.
Every struggle has taught me something, though. I’ve learned to be more confident, more intentional with my business, and more patient with my growth. I’m still figuring things out, but I’m proud that through every setback, I’ve continued to come back and keep building Reena’s Sweet Shoppee.

Reena’s Sweet Shoppee is a dessert business that I started in 2020, built around my love for baking, creativity, and making people feel special through sweet treats. I specialize in custom cakes, cupcakes, dessert boxes, donuts, pound cakes, and other specialty desserts. I also host hands-on cake decorating classes where I get to teach others while creating a fun and welcoming experience.
What I believe sets Reena’s Sweet Shoppee apart is that I’m not afraid to be creative and put my own personality into what I create. I want every order to feel personal not like something that came off an assembly line. Whether someone is ordering a birthday cake, treating themselves to donuts, or attending one of my cake classes, I want them to leave with an experience they remember.
I’m especially proud of how much the brand has grown since 2020. I’ve gone from simply baking and learning on my own to creating a recognizable brand, developing my own menu and pricing, teaching cake classes, creating content, and building a community around my business.
I also want people to know that Reena’s Sweet Shoppee is still growing. I’m constantly learning, experimenting with new ideas, and finding new ways to serve my customers. My goal is to continue turning my creativity into experiences not just desserts.
At the heart of Reena’s Sweet Shoppee, it’s always been about more than cake. It’s about creativity, confidence, community, and creating something that makes people smile.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without the people who have supported me along the way. My family has played a huge role by encouraging me, being patient with me during busy seasons, and understanding how much time and energy I put into building my business.
My customers deserve a huge amount of credit as well. They trusted me when I was still learning and growing, gave me opportunities to try new designs and ideas, and continued to come back and recommend me to other people. A lot of my growth has come from word of mouth and customers believing in my work enough to share it with others.
I’m also grateful for the people who have supported my classes and allowed me to step into the role of a teacher. Being able to teach what I’ve learned has given me another level of confidence in myself and my abilities.
And honestly, I have to give credit to the people who simply told me, “Keep going.” Entrepreneurship can get lonely, and sometimes one encouraging message, order, comment, or person believing in you can make a huge difference.
Reena’s Sweet Shoppee may have started with me, but it has grown because of the people who continue to support, purchase, share, encourage, and believe in the brand. I’m extremely grateful for every person who has been a part of that journey.
