Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
RJF Exteriors was built on hard work, faith, and a dream my husband and I shared.
Over 10 years ago, my husband and I decided to take a leap of faith and start our own exterior restoration company specializing in roofing, siding, gutters, and windows. My husband grew up roofing and was incredibly talented at his craft. I brought years of experience in administration and business operations. One day, I told him, “Quit your job, and let’s build something of our own.” He did—and shortly after, I left my well-paying career to join him.
We started with very little. Our first work truck was a black Honda Accord with a ladder strapped to the roof. We’d pull up to job sites ready to work, determined to build a company our family could be proud of. Through dedication, honesty, and exceptional craftsmanship, RJF Exteriors continued to grow.
For many years, our focus was retail roofing and exterior services. In 2022, we expanded our expertise by adding insurance restoration, allowing us to help homeowners navigate the often-overwhelming insurance claims process after storm damage.
In 2024, my world changed when my husband unexpectedly passed away. Losing my partner in life and business was heartbreaking. He taught me everything I know about this industry, and I carry his passion, values, and commitment with me every day. Thanks to the incredible team we’ve built together, I have been able to continue the company we started from the ground up.
Today, RJF Exteriors is proudly women-owned and operated, serving homeowners throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania. Our mission is simple: to protect and preserve our clients’ greatest investment—their homes. Every roof we install and every family we serve is a reflection of the legacy my husband and I began together.
My greatest hope is to continue growing RJF Exteriors and one day pass this legacy on to our children, showing them that with hard work, integrity, and perseverance, anything is possible.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No- we started with 50$ in our account. It took us a great deal of time to get where we’re at- also being a young women in the construction world with dominantly men it can be tough. However with our team of experience we have overcome and become a powerhouse now being rated one of the top local roofing companies.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We specialize in roofing siding gutters and windows. We thrive on helping homeowners preserve the value of their home. Customer service and walking our homeowners through the process is priority because it can be scary- I mean it’s alot of money- a roof is one of the most expensive expenses on a home. We offer financing, and we work with all insurances if going through your home iw era insurance
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see us expanding into Virginia- we are liscensed in Maryland and Pennsylvania. We are currently working with commercial properties which is huge in this industry- just really greatful for our next chapter
