Meet Rachel Davis of StrongMindFit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Davis.

Hi Rachel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My fitness journey started in 2013, after the birth of my son, when I found myself nearly 80 pounds heavier after pregnancy.

I joined a kickboxing studio and began learning not only how to exercise, but how to properly fuel my body for weight loss. What started as a desire to lose weight quickly became a passion for fitness and nutrition. I fell in love with the process and became a certified kickboxing instructor.

From there, I started learning about weightlifting and incorporated strength training into my routine while also running marathons. I became fascinated by how the body could become stronger, healthier, and more capable with the right training and nutrition.

That passion led me to become a certified personal trainer and eventually start my own personal training side business.

After moving back to Pennsylvania, I worked in several different fitness facilities and took on a variety of roles, including management. One of my biggest accomplishments was building and running a successful personal training program while overseeing, mentoring, and developing other trainers and coaches.

Then, in 2020, I decided to take the leap into full self employment. I started with in home personal training, and over the years, that small beginning evolved into what I have today, owning and fully operating my own personal training studio.

What started with losing the weight after having my son actually turned into a career, a business, and a lifelong passion.
I didn’t just change my body. I built a life around helping other people change theirs.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The Journey Hasn’t Been Easy

Over the past 12 years, I’ve faced my share of challenges and obstacles. From navigating my own personal struggles with mental health and addiction, to having to pivot more times than I can count, this journey has tested me in ways I never expected.

One of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make was closing my first training facility. That was a place that represented a lifelong dream. Walking away from something I had worked so hard to build was heartbreaking, but it also taught me that sometimes closing one chapter is necessary to create the next.

Owning a business is still one of the biggest challenges I face every day, but it’s also one of the most rewarding.

I continue to push myself, even on the hard days, because I know why I started. I want to keep growing, keep moving forward, and keep helping people change their lives one workout at a time.

As you know, we’re big fans of StrongMindFit . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
StrongMindFit is a personal training and fitness business built around one simple belief: fitness should be about becoming stronger, healthier, and more confident…not simply chasing a number on the scale.

With more than 12 years of experience in the fitness industry, we specialize in personalized strength training, fat loss, nutrition guidance, and helping men & women create sustainable habits that fit into their real lives. We offer both in-person and virtual training, allowing us to work with clients at all different stages of their fitness journey.

What sets StrongMindFit apart is the personal connection and experience behind the brand. Our trainers are not someone who simply teaches fitness. We have lived through our own major challenges and transformations, and understand that changing your body and your life requires more than a workout plan. It requires consistency, accountability, mindset, and learning how to navigate setbacks.

I’m most proud of building StrongMindFit from the ground up. What started with in home personal training eventually grew into owning and operating my own personal training studio. Through every pivot and challenge, the mission has remained the same: to help people become stronger physically and mentally while creating results they can actually maintain.

I want readers to know that StrongMindFit is about more than fitness. It’s about meeting people where they are, helping them build confidence, and giving them the tools, support, and accountability to become the strongest version of themselves.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I believe the fitness industry will continue moving away from a one size fits all approach and toward personalized, sustainable, fitness.

Technology will play a much larger role, with AI, wearable devices, virtual training, and online programs making it easier to personalize workouts, track progress, and stay accountable. However, I think there will be a growing demand for the human connection that technology can’t replace. People still want someone who understands them, challenges them, and holds them accountable.

I also see strength training becoming even more important, especially for women. Thankfully, there is a growing understanding that fitness isn’t just about weight loss anymore. It’s about building muscle, maintaining strength, improving longevity, and feeling capable in your body.

Another major shift I expect is a focus on sustainable health rather than quick fixes. As people become more educated about nutrition, recovery, hormones, stress, and health in general, fitness professionals will need to provide more well rounded guidance rather than simply creating workouts.

For StrongMindFit, I see an opportunity to combine the best of both worlds: using technology to make fitness more convenient and personalized while maintaining the accountability, relationships, and individualized attention that have always been at the heart of my business.
