Today we’d like to introduce you to Luisa Ossa.
Hi Luisa , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
For many years I drew, painted, and pursued a number of artistic hobbies. But as life got busier and responsibilities grew my creative practices fell by the wayside. In 2021, I began birding, which led to my nature photography which, in turn, helped me re-embrace my artistic side. I began sharing my bird and nature photography on social media, and I’ve had some of it displayed in coffee shops and galleries. I wanted to do more with my photos so I began creating designs and prints with them, and Chirp and Charm was born. All of Chirp and Charm’s products feature my unique designs that incorporate elements of my nature photography which I turn into fun, bright, pop art influenced designs and prints. My designs are meant to uplift people’s space and spirits (with a little sprinkle of humor as well).
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think for almost everyone there are challenges in business. Sometimes you don’t know what you don’t know until it comes up.
My biggest challenge, as a small art based business, is getting the word out and having as many people as possible know about Chirp and Charm. That’s why I really appreciate this opportunity to be included in the “Hidden Gems” feature in Voyage Pennsylvania Magazine!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Chirp and Charm’s mission is to bring joy, creativity, and connection through nature-inspired art and stationery that encourages people to write, reflect, and share meaningful moments. I hope to bring joy, beauty, and a little levity into people’s lives.
My designs are bold, colorful, nature inspired with a touch of pop art influence. They are featured on stationery products and gift and decor products like mugs and canvas prints. The offerings are unique because I create all of the designs and they all begin with a real photograph I took.
I’m very proud that Woman’s Day magazine featured Chirp and Charm in their August/September 2026 issue. Chirp and Charm’s beautiful sunflower journals were highlighted.
Creativity has always been a major part of my life. In addition to Chirp and Charm, I’ve spent much of my life as an educator and writer and have used my creativity for creative curriculum design, in my writing, and beyond. I love helping people tap into their creativity and also use creativity to problem solve, so in addition to owning Chirp and Charm, I’m also a creative consultant, and I’m happy to help anyone out there discover or rekindle their creative side, or help organizations and companies with creative problem solving.
