Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Glover.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Art has been a passion of mine since childhood, beginning with creating alongside my grandmother, an incredible seamstress and crafter. In high school I discovered architecture, later earning my bachelor’s degree in the Bay Area, where I trained my eye to see the world through lines, forms, and spatial composition, a foundation that still shapes my practice today. My work balances precision and flow, geometric strength and organic movement. I create across acrylics, mixed media, and digital art, layering emotion, memory, and environment into visual narratives. The process is spiritual for me, both a release and a dialogue with the viewer. My inspiration comes from lived experience, cultural identity, and my city, Philadelphia, its resilience, rhythm, and stories fuel my creativity. I’ve showcased my work across the U.S., from Philadelphia and Delaware to Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, LA, and DC, while also engaging in community projects that use art as empowerment. Looking ahead, I aim to continue expanding my reach, sparking conversations that heal, inspire, and remind us that beauty, power, and possibility live within us all.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’m a full-time, self-funded artist navigating an industry that doesn’t come with a blueprint or guarantees. There have been moments of financial uncertainty, creative exhaustion, and seasons where it felt like progress was slow or invisible.
What’s kept me grounded is my faith and my commitment to the vision I set for myself and the passion I have to help other creators. I constantly remind myself that nothing worth having comes easy. Staying creative during hard times isn’t always about inspiration, it’s about discipline, focus, and trusting the process even when the results aren’t immediate.
Every challenge has sharpened my purpose. The struggle taught me how to stay consistent, protect my creativity, and keep showing up for the work and the community I’m building. I didn’t take the easy route, but I took the honest one and that’s what makes the journey meaningful.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a multidisciplinary artist and founder of Creative Thoughts. I create work that explores identity, healing, and self-belief while blending fine art with street culture. I’m known for live painting, bold portraiture, and turning messages into meaningful, wearable, and collectible art. I was initially trained as an architect and earned my degree in 2011, which influences how I approach composition, structure, and storytelling in my work. I’m most proud of building a self-funded, full-time art practice rooted in community and purpose. What sets me apart is that my work isn’t just visual, it’s intentional. Every piece is designed to inspire, affirm, and spark conversation.
How do you think about happiness?
Creating makes me happy, having others experience my work and feel inspired is what truly fulfills me. I lost my dad when I was 24, and more recently I’ve lost three family members. That kind of loss changes you and deepens your gratitude. For me, it’s no longer “I have to,” it’s “I get to.” I get to create, I get to share my art with the world, and I get to live out the dreams I’ve had since I was a child. My inner child is proud, and for that, I feel deeply accomplished. To see my art have an impact while I’m still here to witness it, that’s success, and it continues to fuel my why.
