Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Cimino.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
After high school, I was not entirely sure what path I wanted to take. I did well enough in school and had a strong circle of friends, but traditional college never felt like the right fit for me. I always had an instinct that I wanted to help people in some way, I just did not yet know what that would look like.
About a year after graduating, while working in retail, I discovered massage therapy. Something about it immediately felt right, and I decided to follow that instinct and enroll in school. That decision really set everything in motion for me. Massage therapy introduced me to the wellness industry and to the deeper impact that hands-on care can have on someone’s physical and emotional well-being.
While working in spas, I was eventually introduced to skincare and aesthetics, and I quickly felt drawn to it. It became another way for me to connect with people and support their confidence and overall well-being. Over time I realized I loved combining body care and skincare because both play a role in helping people feel comfortable and cared for in their own skin.
As my career evolved, I wanted to explore more creative ways to express that passion for helping people feel good. That led me to start my spray tanning brand, Naturelle Hues. It felt like a natural extension of the work I was already doing. I love that it allows me to bring out a more feminine and creative side while also promoting a healthier approach to achieving a natural glow without the use of tanning beds.
Looking back, each step built on the one before it. What started as a simple decision to try massage therapy has grown into a career centered around helping people feel good in their bodies and cared for as a whole.
One of the most meaningful parts of my work is creating a safe and supportive environment where people can relax, be themselves, and even be vulnerable if they need to. I try to bring a personal and intentional touch to every service so that people leave not only feeling better physically, but also feeling seen, supported, and loved.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like most journeys, it has not always been a completely smooth road. There have definitely been moments of uncertainty, especially when trying to figure out what the next step should be or where to grow from here. Early on, there was a lot of pressure I put on myself and a fear of failing or making the wrong decision.
Over time, I have learned that growth does not always come from having everything figured out. Sometimes it comes from staying open, continuing to learn, and trusting the process even when things feel uncertain.
That mindset has helped me move through the bumps along the way. Instead of letting fear stop me, I try to stay receptive to where the path is leading and allow each experience to shape the next step.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My work is centered around holistic wellness through nervous system-focused bodywork, skincare, and sunless tanning services. I currently offer massage therapy and aesthetic services within local wellness studio environments, including Everybody Yoga & Wellness and Body by E Wellness Center, where I focus on creating restorative spaces where clients can slow down, relax, and feel genuinely cared for.
A big part of my work is the overall experience. I am very intentional about creating calming environments through elements like aromatherapy, thoughtful touch, and a welcoming atmosphere so that people feel comfortable and supported from the moment they arrive. While the physical results are important, such as relaxed muscles, healthier skin, or a natural sunless tan that boosts confidence, what matters most to me is the relationship I build with my clients. I strive to meet people where they are and create a space where they feel valued, cared for, and able to take time for themselves.
Over time, my work has grown from massage therapy into aesthetics and eventually into starting my own spray tanning brand, Naturelle Hues. Creating my own brand has been something I am very proud of. It was made possible through the trust and support of loyal clients and the wellness community that has supported my growth. Naturelle Hues is built around a skin-care-forward approach to sunless tanning, using clean, non-toxic ingredients so clients can feel confident about what they are putting on their skin while achieving a natural glow.
Another important part of my brand is education. I believe how we treat our bodies has a direct impact on how we feel and how we show up in our lives, so I am passionate about helping clients learn about healthy skincare habits, clean ingredients, and practices that support long-term wellness. My goal is not only to help people look and feel their best, but also to create experiences where they feel supported, restored, and more connected to their own well-being.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is human connection. Beyond the services I provide, I value the relationships that grow from the work I do. Being able to support someone, listen, and create a space where they feel comfortable and cared for is incredibly meaningful to me.
Education and learning are also very important in my life. Many of the skills and knowledge I have today came from mentors and people who were willing to share their experience with me. Because of that, I feel a strong desire to do the same for others, whether that means helping clients better understand their wellness and skincare or encouraging someone who is interested in this field.
At the end of the day, I believe we all grow through connection. Being able to support one another, learn from one another, and build meaningful relationships is what matters most to me.
