Life & Work with Shania Stowers of Pittsburgh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shania Stowers.

Hi Shania, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began my creative journey at just 15 years old by posting videos on YouTube, where I experimented with challenges, pranks, fashion, and hair tutorials. At the time, I didn’t have a clear direction or long-term plan. I was simply creating for the joy of it. Content creation was a fun outlet that allowed me to express my personality and creativity.

Naturally drawn to entertainment, I previously explored different platforms such as Dubsmash, Musical.ly, and Triller, where I leaned into being authentic and expressive rather than strategic. Looking back, those early experiences helped shape my confidence on camera and solidified my love for creating content.

Over time, what began as “just for fun” evolved into a deeper passion and a more intentional path. I learned how to turn creativity into purpose, build community, and grow as both a creator and a brand. Those early years of experimenting without pressure laid the foundation for where I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many creatives, I’ve faced moments of self doubt, especially early on when negative comments and low engagement began to impact my mental health. There were times when declining views felt discouraging and even embarrassing, making me question whether I should continue.

Starting out in Pittsburgh also came with its own challenges. At the time, there weren’t many creators in the space, and being one of the few put a spotlight on me that wasn’t always supportive. I experienced criticism and people trying to minimize what I was building, which was difficult to navigate while still finding my confidence.

However, those experiences pushed me to develop thicker skin, set healthier boundaries, and focus less on external validation and more on purpose. Learning not to let opinions define my worth has been one of the most important lessons along my journey.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a multi creative content creator and performer. I host a cooking show “Nia’s Kitchen Khronicles” where I combine creativity, personality, and relatability. I was not able to touch the stove by myself until I was 18 and I have been teaching myself how to cook, I showcase recipes I have learned and let my guest try my food. I usually bring on guest that can add value to the show while we’re cooking ! Also sharing lifestyle content centered around hair, confidence, and everyday life. My goal is always to provide value while staying authentic to who I am.

In addition to content creation, I have experience in acting and modeling. I recently appeared in a fan film inspired by The Last of Us directed & filmed by “Lumen Productions.” I am signed with Talent Group in Pittsburgh, but my social media has opened doors to various on camera and performance opportunities. My modeling background includes runway and print work, allowing me to work with a wide range of brands and creatives.

I also partner with businesses and brands through social media promotions, helping them broadcast their products to a wider audience and drive engagement and sales. Whether I’m creating entertainment, promoting a product, or sharing useful information, everything I do is rooted in storytelling, confidence, and connection with my audience.

What does success mean to you?
Success to me is found in the small wins. It’s about setting goals for yourself whether big or small and having the discipline and faith to follow through and achieve them. Every step forward counts, and those moments of progress are what truly define success for me.
