Life & Work with Helen Logan of Philadelphia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Helen Logan.

Hi Helen, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started modeling by accident! It was 2013, I think! My ex invited me to a shoot. The photographer asked me to step in because he liked my outfit. I didn’t start back up again until about 2016. Then I was like shit, I’m kind of good at this! -Wait, can I say shit? (Remove that if needed) Anyway, modeling has become so much to me since then. I started charging for shoots. I got signed to agencies. I taught myself runway and taught other models. It’s been wild. And I’m super grateful for all of it!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Modeling has not always been a smooth road, of course not. What in life is? Everyone had their struggles and their problems. It just so happened that my issues went hand and hand with the modeling industry. I started drinking heavily while modeling. I eventually became dependent on it. I also stopped drinking while modeling! It’ll be two years without any alcohol in May and I’m so happy for that!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a fashion and runway model. I guess what sets me apart from others is my willingness to grow and become better. Not just with my craft, but as a human being, I think more opportunities present themselves when you’re doing good and being good to others. I really think what you put out in the world comes back to you tenfold. So do good and good will follow!

What does success mean to you?
I’d define success as a happy and fulfilled life. Not just with wealth but with people and with love.
