Inspiring Conversations with Wellington Brito of Leblon Steak Brazilian Steakhouse

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wellington Brito.

Hi Wellington , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved from Brazil to the United States in 1999, and my career here has really been built around hospitality, operations, and entrepreneurship.

For about 17 years, I worked as a Director of Operations for Dunkin Brands, overseeing Dunkin’ Donuts operations. That experience taught me a tremendous amount about leadership, systems, consistency, customer service, and what it really takes to operate a successful business at scale.

Eventually, I decided to take that experience and build something of my own in the restaurant industry. I started with a Taste of Brazil franchise in Connecticut, which gave me the opportunity to bring a piece of Brazilian culture and food to a local community.

From there, my journey continued with Flames Brazilian Steakhouse in Belmar, New Jersey, followed by Leblon in New Jersey, and today Leblon Steak in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

Leblon Steak has become a very important part of that journey. I built it together with my business partner, Susana Aguero, and our goal has been to create more than just a place to eat. We want guests to experience the warmth, energy, hospitality, and flavors that make Brazilian dining so special.

The road has definitely had challenges, but every stage taught me something. Today, I’m proud of how far the journey has come, and I’m still focused on growing, improving, and creating memorable experiences for the communities we serve

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was making the transition from a long corporate career into entrepreneurship. After about 17 years with Dunkin Brands, I was used to operating within an established system. Becoming an owner meant that every decision, every problem, and every risk ultimately came back to me.

The restaurant business is also demanding in ways that people don’t always see. Staffing, maintaining consistency, controlling costs, adapting to changing customer expectations, and making sure every guest has a great experience all require constant attention. As we expanded from Connecticut to New Jersey and then Pennsylvania, each location brought a new market, a new team, and a new set of lessons.

There were definitely moments when things didn’t go as planned, but those challenges taught me to become more resilient and more adaptable. They also reinforced how important it is to have the right people around you. My business partner, Susana Aguero, has been an important part of that journey, especially as we’ve continued to grow and develop Leblon Steak.

I’ve learned that in business, problems never completely disappear — you just become better at solving them. For me, the key has always been to keep moving forward, learn from mistakes, and never become too comfortable with where you are.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Leblon Steak is an authentic Brazilian steakhouse in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, built around the traditional rodizio experience. Guests enjoy a wide variety of meats carved tableside, including prime beef selections, lamb, pork, chicken, sausage, shrimp, and other Brazilian favorites, along with a full market table featuring hot and cold sides.

What we’re most proud of is the experience itself. We want people to feel the energy, hospitality, and generosity of Brazilian dining from the moment they walk in. Leblon is meant to be a place for date nights, celebrations, family dinners, and memorable occasions — not just another steakhouse.

My business partner, Susana Aguero, and I have worked hard to keep the concept authentic while also adapting to what our local community wants. We offer halal meat upon request, our market table is largely gluten-free, and we continue to expand the experience through events, cocktails, desserts, and special dining occasions.

More than anything, we want people to know that Leblon is about bringing a real taste of Brazil to Bucks County and creating an experience that people want to come back to.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
The best way to support us is to come experience Leblon Steak, bring your friends and family, and help spread the word about what we’re building in Bucks County.

We’re also always open to meaningful collaborations with local businesses, community organizations, event planners, content creators, and brands that align with what we do. We love opportunities that bring people together around food, culture, celebrations, and memorable experiences.

For us, collaboration has always been about building real relationships, not just transactions. Whether someone is dining with us, hosting an event, partnering on a project, or simply recommending Leblon to someone new, that support means a lot to
