Today we’d like to introduce you to The Sticky Pig Stacey Wehr.
Hi The Sticky Pig, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Charlie and Stacey Wehr have been working in the restaurant industry for over 25 years each and decided we’d like to start out on our own adventure in 2017. We created the concept by popping up all over town at breweries, festivals and private events working under a tent until the truck became an idea in 2018. After adding the truck to our story, we have been off running for almost 10 seasons now as The Sticky Pig, Mobile Vendor and Caterer!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
nothing smooth is worth it! there have been battles and challenges and lots of breakdowns (mentally and physically with the truck) along the way but we perservered with some elbow grease and by getting creative!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a freshly prepared scratch style food truck with a rotating seasonal menu offering all kinds of delecacies.
Some of these items include Bacon Mac and Cheese, Mexican Spiced Corn Dip with house corn tortilla chips, Deviled Eggs with extravagant toppings such as bacon jam, Loaded Nachos all freshly made down to the chips, O.G. Sandwich with pulled braised pork or chicken, creamy purple slaw, roasted garlic aioli and mixed greens on a toasted brioche bun, Cubanos, Sausage Sandwiches, BLTs with Brown Butter Aioli smeared on it, and the best seller this sesason so far the Tiger Tacos with your choice of protein, crumbled queso blanco, pineapple black bean salsa, tiger sauce and shaved scallions.
We have been doing this for 10 seasons and thrive on providing our customers with choices that will Stick to your Ribs and leave you chasing us down for more!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
This is an interesting question as hard work and dedication to your name, and your product, are always the number one objective. Sometimes luck comes in to play and makes that mission easier and sometimes luck hits us where it hurts and makes the mission more complicated.
As a business, we try to maintain our standard of service across the board in catering and truck service like it was always created from a solid brick and mortar location.
Add in the possible overheatings, break downs, randon fluids, flat tires, spilling while en route to the location, and anything else along the way that can possibly happen in a traveling kitchen, we can be thankful for all the luck we have been given thus far.
