Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As a young girl, finding tasty sweets that were safe for me to eat was hard to come by. My mom always made sure to make me something so I would never feel left out. As I got older, I started to experiment myself with different sweet recipes at home, which became a dangerous but ultimately successful hobby! Chocolate chip cookies was a recipe I truly wanted to perfect, and I did. The cookie that started it all for Sat’s Sweets, a cookie non allergy people also enjoy!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Our biggest obstacle was definitely learning the business side of running a small batch bakery. The passion was for the sweets and making treats people with the same allergies as me could safely enjoy. The numbers and logistics side of things were definitely a learning curve. Fortunately, the small business community here in Conshohocken is a great support system and I was able to learn from others who started before me!
We’ve been impressed with Sat’s Sweets LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sat’s Sweets is a small home bakery in Conshohocken, PA. We specialize in homemade cookies that are exclusively dairy free and nut free. If you have allergies, you know how hard it is to find treats that are not only safe, but that taste delicious! We are proud to serve cookies that are so good that many orders come from people without said allergies! Aside from baking cookies, we love to spread allergy awareness and advocate for safety and education in the food industry. This will always be a major part of our WHY!
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something some people might find surprising is that Sat’s Sweets isn’t my full time job. By day, I am a nanny to sweet young kiddos. I mean what’s better than babies and cookies?!
