Today we’d like to introduce you to Roland & Germyce ( Pronounced Jer-Miece) Williams.
Hi Roland & Germyce ( pronounced Jer-Miece), we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We have always been passionate about pets, especially dogs. Our love for dogs, along with our experience rescuing and volunteering with rescue organizations, inspired us to turn that passion into a career where we could work with dogs every day. The idea for Delco Tails began after we boarded our own dogs for vacation and were impressed by the care they received, inspiring us to dream of creating a place where pets could receive the same love and attention. While searching for a commercial property to build a daycare, boarding, and grooming business, we discovered an existing grooming facility that gave us the perfect opportunity to turn that dream into reality. Today, Delco Tails is growing, with additional groomers joining our team and our doors open to families throughout Delaware County and the surrounding communities. Our motto, “Where Pets Are Family,” reflects our commitment to treating every pet in our care like one of our own. We are especially proud to offer a cage-free grooming salon, where dogs can relax, socialize, and enjoy a less stressful grooming experience while receiving the highest level of care.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We were fortunate that a groomer with 30 years of experience remained with the salon after we took ownership. Her expertise has been invaluable in helping us select the best products and suppliers and navigate the many details necessary to ensure the business continued operating seamlessly.
As you know, we’re big fans of Delco Tails Pet Grooming. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Delco Tails is a crate-free grooming salon in Aston, Pennsylvania, known for providing safe, compassionate, and stress-conscious care in a clean, welcoming environment. Our team combines decades of professional grooming experience with personalized service, high-quality products, and a genuine commitment to every dog’s comfort and well-being. We never use cage dryers; each dog is hand-dried and receives attentive, individualized care from start to finish.
What makes you happy?
What makes us happiest is spending our day with Man’s Best Friend! Seeing dogs leave our salon looking and feeling great, and excited to return. Additionally, we’d love to partner with a local dog rescue and provide a complimentary groom to one dog each month. We want to help that dog look and feel its best and hopefully increase its chances of finding a forever home. A rescue dog finding its forever home; that’s true happiness!
