Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Cauffman.
Hi Josh, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started working with my father who was a horticulturalist when I was young. Our family has a long history of horticulture in the Chester County area. We once owned the largest Rose supplier in the world. My grandmother was a garden club chair. So naturally I started a business to get through college and it grew from there.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been smooth. We have exacting standards and developing the training process to on board is a long road.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about GreenRoots Design Firm?
We are a complete design first company. We love to get to know our clients deeply so that we can make sure to direct the design appropriately. Its a from the front using our experience we just help steer the ship. I am proud of our upfront interview process. Our design is so different from what you will find locally. We don’t accept every project that comes our way. We try to use the Japanese style of Karesansui. Incorporating all the elements that create that feeling but we put our twist on it. Using a modern theory and earthy elements. Our brand is clean and modern but we will tweak to fit the style of the property.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I think my favorite childhood memory is sitting in a hay field on a cool fall day under the blues of the sky and gentle tall grasses rolling from the breeze. They look like rolling waves. One plant, simple and pleasing to watch.

- Our pricing is project specific. Its so helpful to have a budget going in to a project. We really obsess over getting you the correct design for your home its painful to operate without a budget because we cant steer the design correctly at that point we can only go off your wish list. Most of our projects we look at as a phased approach so we price everything like a menu giving our customers the ability to mix and match how they want to execute phasing.
