Inspiring Conversations with Devon Bond of Garrick Jewelers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Devon Bond.

Devon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Devon Bond’s journey to owning Garrick Jewelers began at the jeweler’s bench. After getting his first introduction to the jewelry industry at just 10 years old, Devon became a bench jeweler right after high school, developing the hands-on skills that would become the foundation of his career.

He went on to build a wholesale jewelry repair business, turning his craftsmanship into a business of his own. Working on repairs deepened his understanding of how jewelry is made, how it wears, and the care it takes to restore pieces that hold meaning for their owners. Building that business also brought a new set of responsibilities: managing work, serving customers, and earning trust.

Eventually, Devon’s path led him back to the family business. He purchased Rick Foye’s ownership interest in Garrick Jewelers and later bought out his father, Gary Bond, becoming the company’s sole owner.

For Devon, purchasing Garrick Jewelers marked both a personal achievement and the continuation of a family legacy. He now brings the perspective of a craftsman and the experience of a business owner to the store’s next chapter—building on the foundation his father helped establish while shaping its future.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Devon Bond helped reinvent Garrick Jewelers’ online presence and develop new ways to generate revenue. With traditional retail disrupted, he rebuilt the company’s website to better showcase its jewelry and help customers connect with the store online.

Devon also sought out new business partners nationwide, expanding the company’s network and creating opportunities beyond its local market. Those relationships helped open new streams of revenue and broaden the business’s reach during an uncertain time.

His efforts reflected the entrepreneurial drive that had shaped his wholesale repair business: adapting to changing circumstances, building relationships, and finding opportunities to grow. By strengthening Garrick Jewelers’ digital presence and developing partnerships across the country, Devon helped position the company for growth beyond the pandemic.

As you know, we’re big fans of Garrick Jewelers. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
