Inspiring Conversations with Caitlin Durning of Meraki Media Management

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin Durning.

Hi Caitlin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my journey in business at 22 years old, driven by a deep desire for freedom, creativity, and connection. What began as a passion for social media quickly evolved into something much bigger—a mission to help others be seen, heard, and understood in a world that moves fast and often feels disconnected.

In the early days, I believed I had to do everything on my own. Like many entrepreneurs, I wore every hat, pushed through burnout, and tied my worth to how much I could produce. But over time, I realized that building a business wasn’t just about strategy—it was about alignment. It was about understanding my energy, trusting my intuition, and allowing space for support, growth, and rest.

Through building Meraki Media Management, I found my rhythm in helping others show up online in a way that felt true to them. Not forced, not performative—but intentional. I saw firsthand how powerful it is when someone connects to their voice and their audience at the same time. That intersection became the foundation of everything I do.

At the same time, my own personal evolution deepened. My podcast, The End in Mind, became a space where I could speak honestly about the inner work of entrepreneurship—the grief of outgrowing old versions of yourself, the pressure to succeed, and the courage it takes to keep going anyway. It’s not just about building a business; it’s about building a life that actually feels good to live.

There were moments that tested everything—times I felt overwhelmed, uncertain, and stretched beyond what felt possible. But those moments taught me the most. They showed me how to pause, to feel, to recalibrate, and to move forward with clarity instead of urgency.

Today, my work is rooted in both strategy and soul. I believe success comes from blending data with intuition, structure with creativity, and ambition with self-awareness. I don’t just help businesses grow—I help people come home to themselves in the process.

Because in the end, the goal was never just the business. It was the life I was creating along the way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I struggled with asking for help, convinced that being a “good” entrepreneur meant carrying it all. I overworked, pushed through burnout, and often tied my worth to how much I could produce. There were moments of deep overwhelm, along with the quiet challenges—comparison, self-doubt, and the fear of not being good enough. As my business evolved, I also faced the grief of outgrowing older versions of myself and letting go of what once felt safe.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Philly is the energy—it truly lives up to its reputation as the City of Brotherly Love. There’s something about the people, the passion for sports, and the deep-rooted culture that brings everyone together. Whether it’s rallying around a team, celebrating local traditions, or just the shared pride of being from here, there’s a sense of connection you can feel everywhere you go.

If I had to pick a least favorite thing… it’s definitely the traffic (LOL). But honestly, that’s just part of being in any great city.
