Today we’d like to introduce you to Anabelle Clebaner.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My path into nutrition didn’t start with fertility. It started with food access.
Early in my career, I worked in urban gardening and food policy. I partnered with food banks and nonprofits, and I even lobbied state senators to make SNAP more accessible. I went on to get my Master’s in Nutrition and Public Policy, thinking I’d spend my career working at the systems level.
But something shifted. I realized I wanted to work with people one-on-one. I wanted to help women understand their bodies and see change in real time. So I pivoted into nutrition communications and behavior change, and became a registered dietitian.
During my dietetic internship, I trained under Ayla Barmmer of FullWell Fertility. That’s where I was introduced to functional medicine for fertility, and I was hooked. For the first time, I saw an approach that asked the questions I cared about. Why is this happening? What’s being missed? How do we fix it at the root?
It was personal, too. I’d spent years dealing with irregular cycles and gut issues. I ran my own gut test, healed my digestion, and finally understood what my body needed. My cycles regulated. I felt like myself again. And I went on to have two healthy pregnancies.
In 2019, right after passing my RD exam, my husband and I moved to Australia. Instead of waiting for the perfect time, I started my private practice.
Over and over, the same women found me. They’d been told everything looked “normal.” They’d tried the supplements, the diets, the tracking. Some had been told IVF was their only option. And they all asked the same question: “Why isn’t this working?”
It wasn’t that they weren’t trying. No one had ever looked at the full picture.
That’s what Wellspring Nutrition does. We use functional lab testing so we’re not guessing, then build a personalized plan around what we find. Today I’ve interpreted thousands of labs and supported over 200 client pregnancies.
My mission is simple. I want women to stop guessing, understand their bodies, and move forward with a clear plan and real confidence.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all.
I started my practice in January 2020, right after passing my RD exam, in a brand new country. I was pregnant with my first son, and just 2 months later COVID hit. I didn’t have a network. I didn’t have referral partners. I had a laptop, a lot of passion, and no idea how to find clients.
That was the first big lesson. Dietetics training teaches you the science. It doesn’t teach you how to run a business. I had to learn marketing, sales, and how to talk about my work in a way that connected with the women who needed it. Luckily my background in nutrition communications was helpful there. The reality is when you run your own practice you wear many hats, and you need to learn quickly how to do all of them or to hire out. I invested a lot in mentors, business coaches, functional nutrition programs, and it gave me the confidence I needed to show up and ultimately help women, which was my entire goal to begin with.
And through all of it, I was becoming a mom. I have two boys, and I work from home. Building a business while raising little kids means there’s no such thing as perfect balance. I’ve learned to give myself grace and build systems that let me do both.
What kept me going was the women. Every time a client told me, “I finally understand what’s going on,” or sent me a positive pregnancy test, it reminded me why I started. That’s still what fuels me today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Wellspring Nutrition?
Wellspring Nutrition is a functional nutrition practice specializing in fertility and women’s hormone health. We help women who’ve been trying to conceive, often for one to three years, and have been told everything looks “normal.” They’re still not pregnant, and no one can tell them why.
We run a fertility investigation. We use advanced functional lab testing, like DUTCH, GI-MAP, HTMA, and comprehensive blood work, to uncover what standard workups and conventional fertility clinics miss. Then we turn those results into a clear, personalized plan covering nutrition, targeted supplements, and lifestyle support.
My philosophy is simple: test, don’t guess. Most women I work with have already tried the diets, the supplement stacks, the tracking apps. They’ve put in so much effort. What they haven’t had is a strategy built around their own body.
What sets us apart:
A few things.
First, normal isn’t the same as optimal. A lab can fall within the standard range and still point to an imbalance that’s affecting fertility. We look at the full picture: blood sugar, gut health, minerals, stress, and hormones, and how they connect.
Second, we’re not anti-IVF. We’re the smarter step before it. Many of my clients come to me after being told IVF is their only option. We give them a focused window to understand their body first. Many go on to conceive on their own. Others move into IVF feeling more prepared and confident. Either way, they know nothing was missed.
Third, we keep it simple. No extreme diets. No fifteen-supplement routines. Only what your body needs.
What I’m most proud of
At this point in my career, I’ve been able to help the same clients get pregnant with their first AND second babies. Its truly such a rewarding career.

If you’ve been told everything is normal but you know something is off, trust that instinct. There’s a reason this isn’t working, and it’s worth finding. You don’t have to figure it out alone.
You can find us at wellspringnutrition.co, on Instagram at @ttcdietitian, and on the Healing in Fertility podcast.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
If you’re trying to conceive
The best place to start is my free Root Cause Fertility Quiz. It helps you identify what might be getting in the way and points you toward the right next step. You can also grab my free Preconception Checklist for a simple guide to preparing your body for pregnancy.
When you’re ready for more support, we have options at every level. The 4-Week Fertility Meal Plan is an easy first step. Nourishing Fertility teaches the foundations at your own pace. The Root Cause Fertility Method combines functional lab testing with group coaching. And our Whole Health Fertility VIP program is full 1:1 support with a plan built around your labs.
If you’re not sure which fits, reach out. I’m happy to point you in the right direction.
If you’re a practitioner
I love collaborating with OBs, reproductive endocrinologists, acupuncturists, therapists, and other providers who support women through fertility. Functional nutrition works best alongside conventional care, not in place of it. If you have patients who’ve been told everything is normal and need a deeper look, I’d love to connect about referral partnerships.
If you want to support the work: Follow along on Instagram at @ttcdietitian, where I share daily education. Listen to the Healing in Fertility podcast, and leave a review if it helps you. And share it with someone who needs it. So many women are struggling in silence, and one post or episode can be the thing that helps them feel less alone.
