Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaime Burgos.
Hi Jaime, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
was born in Colorado Springs and spent much of my childhood moving from state to state because my father served in the Army. Constant change taught me resilience, adaptability, and how to rebuild from the ground up more times than I can count.
I originally pursued a completely different path and worked in interior design before chronic health issues forced me to reevaluate my future. That experience ultimately pushed me toward esthetics and wellness, where I discovered a true passion for helping people feel confident, comfortable, and beautiful in their own skin.
I’ve now been in the beauty industry for nearly two decades and own Lancaster’s Luxe Lashes & Spa in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I specialize in natural lash extensions, corrective skincare, brow services, and holistic beauty approaches that focus on both inner and outer wellness. My personal struggles with hereditary cystic acne and health challenges gave me a deeper understanding of how closely confidence and self-image are connected.
Over the years, I’ve continued expanding my education and certifications while building a business centered around authenticity, client relationships, and helping women simplify their beauty routines while still feeling confident and empowered.
My journey has involved a lot of rebuilding, personal growth, and perseverance, but every challenge helped shape the business owner, mother, mentor, and woman I am today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. Building a business from the ground up has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Like many entrepreneurs, I started with more passion and determination than money or resources. There were years of working extremely long hours, constantly reinvesting back into the business, balancing motherhood, personal struggles, and trying to create stability at the same time.
One of the biggest challenges was rebuilding myself professionally after major life setbacks and learning how to believe in my own abilities again. I also transitioned careers entirely, going from interior design into esthetics, which meant starting over in many ways and proving myself all over again.
The beauty industry itself is also incredibly competitive and constantly evolving. Staying successful requires ongoing education, adapting to trends, investing in certifications, learning marketing, social media, client retention, and continuing to grow even when things become uncomfortable or financially stressful.
Another major challenge came shortly after marrying my husband, when he received a cancer diagnosis just two months after our wedding. Overnight, our focus shifted from celebrating a new chapter together to navigating fear, uncertainty, medical appointments, treatments, and trying to keep life and business moving forward during one of the most emotionally difficult periods of our lives. That experience deeply changed my perspective on resilience, health, gratitude, and the importance of supporting others through difficult seasons.
I’ve also faced personal health struggles throughout my life, including hereditary cystic acne, which became part of what fueled my passion for corrective skincare and helping clients regain confidence in themselves.
Probably the biggest lesson through all of it has been learning resilience. Every obstacle forced me to grow stronger, more resourceful, and more determined to create a business and life I could truly be proud of.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Lancaster’s Luxe Lashes & Spa LLC is a beauty and wellness studio located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, specializing in natural lash extensions, lash lifts and tints, brow services, corrective skincare, facials, body sculpting, and holistic beauty services. I’ve been an esthetician for nearly two decades and was one of the earliest lash artists in the area offering lash extensions before they became widely popular locally.
One thing I’m especially proud of is longevity. Many of the competitors I started alongside years ago have since closed their businesses, changed industries, or stopped offering lash services entirely. Lancaster’s Luxe Lashes & Spa has continued to grow and evolve, making us the longest-running lash extension provider in Lancaster County. That kind of longevity in the beauty industry comes from consistency, continued education, client trust, adaptability, and genuinely caring about the quality of the work and client experience.
What truly sets my business apart is my focus on enhancing natural beauty rather than creating overly dramatic or artificial results. My goal is for clients to feel confident, refreshed, and low-maintenance while still looking like themselves — just elevated. Every service is customized to the client’s features, lifestyle, comfort level, and long-term beauty goals.
I’m also deeply passionate about corrective skincare because of my own lifelong struggles with hereditary cystic acne and health issues. That personal experience gave me a much deeper understanding of how skin concerns can affect confidence and self-esteem. I pride myself on educating clients, creating realistic treatment plans, and helping clients feel genuinely supported throughout the process.
Beyond the services themselves, I’ve worked hard to create an environment where clients feel comfortable, relaxed, and cared for. Many of my clients have been with me for years, and those long-term relationships are one of the things I value most about my business and career.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I think one of the biggest misconceptions is that mentors always appear in a formal way. Some of the best mentorship I’ve received came through observing successful people, taking continuing education courses, networking with other professionals, and simply being willing to ask questions and keep learning.
For me, continuing education has been one of the most valuable investments I’ve ever made. Not only for improving my technical skills, but also for learning marketing, business strategy, client retention, branding, and leadership. The beauty industry changes constantly, and staying connected to education and industry professionals is essential if you want long-term success.
I also believe networking works best when it’s genuine and relationship-based rather than transactional. Building authentic relationships with other professionals, supporting other businesses, collaborating, and being consistent over time has opened many doors for me throughout my career.
At the same time, I’ve learned that not every mentor or business relationship is meant to last forever, and that’s okay too. Sometimes people teach you what to do, and sometimes they teach you what not to do.
My biggest advice would be to stay teachable, stay humble, and never assume you know everything. The people who continue growing in this industry are usually the ones who are willing to evolve, adapt, and keep learning no matter how long they’ve been in business.
