Hidden Gems: Meet Grace of Ready Set Grow Pediatric Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Grace.

Hi Grace, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After working as a pediatric physical therapist for many years, I began to recognize a significant need for convenient, in-home pediatric therapy services that also accept insurance. I saw how valuable it could be for families to receive quality care in the comfort of their own homes without the added stress of traveling to appointments. I wanted to create a service that made therapy more accessible and helped families incorporate their child’s progress into their everyday routines.

At the same time, becoming a mom to two young children gave me a whole new perspective and inspired me to take a leap of faith and pursue my dream of owning my own practice. My kids have been a huge motivation for me to go after something I’m passionate about and build a business that reflects my values, both as a physical therapist and as a mom.

That’s how Ready Set Grow came to life! My goal is to make pediatric physical therapy as accessible and convenient as possible for families while providing individualized care that helps children reach their full potential. Building my own practice has been a rewarding journey, and I’m excited to continue growing the business, reaching more families, and making a difference in the lives of the children I work with.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road! Starting a business comes with a learning curve, especially when you’re trying to balance being a business owner, a physical therapist, and a mom to two young children. I’ve had to learn so much beyond the clinical side of my job, from navigating insurance and billing to marketing my practice and getting my name out into the community.

One of the biggest challenges has been building awareness and helping families find me, especially as a small, independent practice. There are so many moving parts to running a business, and growth doesn’t always happen as quickly as you hope it will.

At the same time, I’ve learned to be patient with the process, celebrate the small wins, and remind myself why I started in the first place. I started Ready Set Grow because I saw a genuine need for the services I provide, and that continues to motivate me on the harder days. My kids are also a huge reminder that it’s important to take chances and pursue the things you’re passionate about, even when they feel overwhelming. I’m still learning and growing every day, both personally and professionally, and I think that’s part of what makes this journey so rewarding.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Ready Set Grow is a fully mobile pediatric physical therapy practice dedicated to helping children of all ages reach their fullest potential. Our motto is “Small steps. Big milestones.” because we believe that every step forward, no matter how small it may seem, deserves to be celebrated.

After working as a pediatric physical therapist for many years, I recognized a need for convenient, in-home therapy services that also accept insurance. I wanted to make quality pediatric physical therapy more accessible to families by bringing services directly to them, eliminating the stress of traveling to appointments and allowing children to work on their skills in the environment where they spend most of their time.

We work with children of all ages, although I have a special place in my heart for the birth-to-three population. Those early years are such an important time for development, and I love being able to support children as they reach milestones, gain new skills, and become more confident in their movement and independence. It’s also incredibly rewarding to work alongside parents and caregivers, helping them feel empowered to support their child’s development in everyday life.

What sets Ready Set Grow apart is our combination of convenience, individualized care, and a family-centered approach. As a mom of two young children myself, I understand how busy family life can be, and I wanted to create a service that makes getting the care your child needs a little easier. By providing therapy in the home, we can tailor treatment to each child’s unique needs, incorporate familiar toys and daily routines, and help families carry over what we work on during sessions. Being able to bill insurance also makes us even more accessible so families don’t have to rely on private pay options.

What I’m most proud of is the mission behind the brand. Ready Set Grow isn’t just about physical therapy; it’s about helping families feel supported, celebrating progress at every stage, and giving children the opportunity to grow at their own pace. I want families to know that they don’t have to navigate their child’s developmental journey alone. Sometimes the smallest steps lead to the biggest milestones, and it’s a privilege to be part of that journey.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I believe the most important quality contributing to my success is my ability to connect with families and genuinely care about the children I work with. Pediatric physical therapy is about so much more than helping a child reach a physical milestone. It’s about understanding each child’s unique needs, meeting them where they are, and helping families feel supported throughout the process.

I want parents to feel that I’m not just their child’s physical therapist, but someone who is truly invested in their child’s progress and wants to celebrate every win alongside them. Every child develops at their own pace, and I believe it’s important to recognize that progress looks different for everyone.

I also think being adaptable and willing to learn has been essential as I’ve grown my own practice. Running a business requires stepping outside your comfort zone, figuring things out as you go, and being willing to grow along the way. I try to bring that same mindset to my work with families.

Ultimately, my goal is for every family I work with to feel heard, supported, and confident in their child’s journey. That philosophy is at the heart of Ready Set Grow and what our motto, “Small steps. Big milestones.” means to me.
