Exploring Life & Business with Monica Babyak of MonDesigns

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Babyak.

Monica, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey hasn’t followed a straight path. After overcoming addiction, I made the decision to completely change the direction of my life. That decision led me to a marketing firm, where I spent five years learning everything I could about website design, branding, digital marketing, and helping businesses grow.
Over time, the company’s focus shifted away from serving the small businesses and organizations I was most passionate about helping. I realized I wanted to use my skills differently. So, I took a leap of faith and started MonDesigns.
Today, my mission is simple: to make professional marketing, web design, and branding accessible to small businesses and nonprofits. I believe every organization—regardless of its size or budget—deserves the opportunity to grow, tell its story, and make a lasting impact. My past has taught me resilience, my career has given me the skills, and my business allows me to combine both by helping others build something meaningful.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
From the beginning there have been struggles. I left a completely financially stable job to start over and basically from scratch. Learning how to do everything has been an ongoing challenge as technology is constantly changing and evolving. Learning how to grow out of my comfort zone and take on difficult projects outside of what I know so that I can constantly grow. Pricing is always the hardest part of my job, knowing what to charge in marketing is very hard and competitive. To get jobs, you have to have the best pricing a lot of the time. Growing my reputation has been an ongoing challenge. I work with people all over the United States and would love to have so many more in Pennsylvania.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about MonDesigns?
MonDesigns is a creative marketing and web design studio dedicated to helping small businesses and nonprofits build a strong, professional online presence. I specialize in custom website design, branding, social media management, digital advertising, copywriting, and graphic design, creating marketing solutions that are both beautiful and strategic.
What sets me apart is the personalized experience I provide. I take the time to truly understand each client’s goals, audience, and personality so their brand feels authentic rather than cookie-cutter. Whether I’m building a website, managing social media, or creating a marketing campaign, I focus on helping businesses tell their story in a way that connects with people.
I’m especially proud of the long-term relationships I’ve built with my clients. Many of them have been with me for years because they know they have someone they can rely on—not just for design, but for honest advice, creative ideas, and ongoing support. I become an extension of their team, helping them navigate everything from websites and branding to advertising and marketing strategy.
I want every client to feel confident that I will help them stand out in a crowded marketplace.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Attending networking events, handing out business cards when I see an opportunity, asking my clients if they have professional lists or anything they can add me to so I can be easily seen by others in their industry or circle. I have never had a mentor, I basically did everything on my own, but I would suggest looking to someone you admire or knows your industry well for advice.
