Today we’d like to introduce you to Melodie Essig.
Hi Melodie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Namaste, I was born in Los Angeles. I went to a private school The Progressive School of Long Island. As a kid where we learned meditation. I have a degree in Yoga and completely the largest Yoga teacher training in the world at Naropa University in Boulder, CO in 2009. Since then I’ve been teaching professionally at University, temples and studios. Plus extensive continuing education with the top yogis in the world. I currently own my own studio Gayatri Yoga Shala.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In some sense it’s smooth because I know this is my dharma, or life purpose and destiny. Other than that it wasn’t easy it was challenging getting my credentials of course. Plus I’m entirely self made. My family had no money saved for education. I worked full time even in school to pay for my trainings. Even many jobs at once. I’m very grateful overall. As I’ve been extremely fortunate to study with the people I have.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m a professional Yoga teacher and Jyotishya or Traditional Indian Astrologer.. I also offer top quality CPTG essential oils from do terra. What sets me far apart from other Yoga teachers is the extensive hours of training I’ve done. 1,200 at Naropa paired with a degree and countless hours of continuing education. Also that I’ve studied with the top lineages in the world. I’m most proud of the over all look and presentation of my brands. Plus how many people I’ve helped. As well as the quality. I always want everything to be the best and luxury, I want the readers to know the most about my brands. Is that you’re getting top quality that’s unparalleled. Also that I’m not in it for sales or money.

Yes I’d say that I’ve had to be extremely brave and courageous. Like meeting and teaching infront of such amazing Yogis. Plus trusting that I could do all this with little funding for school.
