Hi John, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 1955, my father, John Asch Sr., started mastering the roofing trade while working for various new homebuilders across central New Jersey. Back then, there were no air compressors or nail guns—roofers mastered the art of swift hand-nailing or had to find a different trade altogether.
My father quickly became proficient in residential roofing and, after a few years of working for homebuilders, decided to establish his own business: John Asch Roofing.

John Asch Sr. focused primarily on residential roofing, as well as gutter and siding installations. In 1978, I launched my own business, John Asch Contracting, creating a distinct yet complementary venture to my father’s. Initially, In the early 1980’s I expanded into new home construction and commercial rubber roofing, but after about a decade as a general contractor, I chose to specialize solely in residential roofing. My son, Jason, has since joined the family business, continuing our tradition of excellence and bringing fresh energy and dedication to every project. Thanks to the hard work of my dedicated crew and the loyalty of our satisfied customers, my business has grown and now serves communities across New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
