Hi Joey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Growing up, football was my life. Like a lot of kids, I dreamed of one day playing in the NFL. But during a high school football game, I suffered a career-altering injury that changed the direction of my life.
I still played football in college, but I knew my future was going to look different than I had imagined.
So I decided to study business, and during that time I learned one lesson that has stayed with me ever since:
Successful people solve problems.
So I started asking myself…
“What’s the biggest problem our country has?”
As a Christian, I believe the biggest problem is that not enough people know about Jesus! And the work that he did, that as God’s son, fully man, and fully God, he bore the punishment we deserved by becoming sin so that whosoever believes in Him as Lord over their lives can have eternal life with God in Heaven.
And every time I tell my story of getting into Medicare its a must that I mention that because it truly is God guiding my imperfect business.
Eventually, I met a guy from my KAIZEN Brotherhood and he let me into the Medicare industry, helping seniors choose the best Medicare Advantage plan for them.
At first, I loved it.
I felt like I was making a real difference.
But it didn’t take long before I noticed something that really bothered me.
I saw advertisements promising thousands of dollars in grocery benefits or money back on Social Security just to get people to call a phone number.
Many people weren’t calling because they understood Medicare.
They were calling because of a over-promising advertisement.
Then they would unknowingly change their entire health insurance based on a television commercial or a Facebook ad.
That didn’t sit right with me.
The more I worked in the industry, the more I realized that many people didn’t know they were making bad decisions…
They simply didn’t have someone taking the time to educate them.
And I realized something that changed my life.
I didn’t want to be part of the confusion.
I wanted to become part of the solution.
So I continued learning everything I could about Medicare—not just one type of plan, but Medicare as a whole.
I wanted to understand every option available so I could genuinely help people make the best informed decision for them.
Eventually, I took a step back and asked myself:
“If I could build the kind of Medicare advisory I’d want my own parents or grandparents to walk into… what would it look like?”
The answer became Covenant Senior Benefits.

Now I present all over, educate, and help older folks do Medicare right.
If someone is on Medicare I help make sure they’re on the best path and plan for them.
If someone is not on Medicare yet, I help them compare their options as an independent Medicare advisor across 16 different states to find the best route for them whether that’s staying on employer coverage or transitioning to Medicare.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. Went through companies that lacked integrity. No income having to dig into my savings. Moved out and moved into a money pit of a place and lost $18,000 in 5 months and made less than $3000 with the previous company. with the new company I didnt make a dollar for 2 months. then my first sale was a chargeback. my old company i had 50%+ chargebacks so i couldnt make any money. I have been frauded and scammed from facebook marketing twice losing thousands of dollars. I wasted so much money into horrible ideas that didn’t have a chance at working. I wasted so many marketing dollars on poor non-producing ads. I have had the phone slammed on me dozens of times. I have went without food, applying for medicaid and food stamps.
