Exploring Life & Business with Jessica Fields of Spa Pamper Parties LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Fields.

Hi Jessica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been in the holistic healing world as a massage therapist since 2013. Prior to Covid, I was working at a privately owned massage studio. Once the world shut down, it changed everything for me. I got laid off and was home with my two young daughters trying to navigate online school, a new schedule, and making ends meet as a single mom. When I was able to start working again I chose to start my own massage business. In 2022 I began receiving requests to go to people’s homes to massage them and a group of friends. I was noticing that people were deeply craving touch and connection from being isolated for the past 2 years. At the same time, people were still very wary about leaving their homes and interacting with the public. There was also an uprise in mental health awareness and overall wellness. I understood very quickly how beneficial a service like mobile massage could be for everyone.

Because I have been in the holistic world for many years, I knew a lot of women who offered complementary services in the body, mind and spirit realm. I have a sister who is a Psychic/Medium, my childhood friend reads Tarot cards, I had a connection with an esthetician, and so forth. All of the women I knew who offered holistic services had their own businesses and were in the same boat as me. We were all just trying to get our names out there and gain clients. The question that kept coming up for me was “Why are we all struggling alone when we could be working together to create something bigger?”

Today, Spa Pamper Parties LLC is the leading mobile body, mind and soul service business in the Philadelphia area. We bring unique and fun spa and wellness experiences to your location for any occasion. We are women owned and operated, licensed and insured. We now have over 35 providers who offer many different services including massage, manicures, facials, aura photography, bouquet bar, acupuncture, permanent jewelry, psychic medium readings, tarot readings, and much more! We still do private in home parties but have expanded to Bachelorette parties, weddings and corporate wellness days. We also create our own events like pop ups, holiday events and retreats. We serve Philadelphia to Harrisburg, New Jersey and Delaware.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road! Starting a business from scratch is a huge undertaking especially when there is no blueprint to follow. Spa Pamper Parties LLC is a very unique business and from what I have found and there aren’t many businesses like it. The biggest struggle in the beginning was figuring out the logistics of how to structure the events and provider services so everything runs smoothly. This took me a while and we are constantly improving in that area. Pricing also took a while to nail down, a lot of trial and error. We also had a hard time finding a company that would insure us. Making sure we cross all of our T’s and dot all of our I’s to be legal and professional has been very important since day 1. But overall it has been such a learning experience, every struggle propels us to success.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Spa Pamper Parties LLC?
Spa Pamper Parties LLC is known to provide the most unique spa and wellness services for any event and occasion. We specialize in customizing packages of different services for your event or party. We are a one stop shop for all vendor services, this really sets us apart from other businesses who might provide one or two services. We want our clients to have one point of contact instead of having to email and call various different service providers to piece together an event. This just causes a big headache. We take the stress of planning and logistics off their plate and make it as easy and seamless as possible for our clients. We are also very hands on and communicative throughout the whole process, excelling in customer service. I am also proud to say that we are women owned and operated, we have built a lovely community of service providers and operate as a strong team.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Don’t be afraid to reach out to people or organizations that you admire or want to be a part of. One of the most important things we do is get involved as much as we can with networking groups, female business clubs/groups, community platforms, etc. No one will know your name or what you do if you don’t tell them about it!
There are so many free platforms to utilize when it some to networking and marketing. Making connections these days is easy. Most people want to collaborate and help each other in a mutually beneficial way. It can be as simple as sending a DM or an email, we have made so many great connections this way! When you love what you do and are passionate about your business, people can see, hear and feel that. Sometimes opportunities come to you but most times opportunities are created by putting yourself in the right rooms and in front of the right people.
