Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Webb.
Hi Brittany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My interest in mental health began in a high school psychology class. I was immediately drawn to understanding how the mind works, how emotions are expressed, how behaviors develop, and how people make meaning of their experiences. That class planted the seed that I wanted to do *something* in this field.
During my undergraduate studies, I found that I really enjoyed learning theory and, even more, applying it in real-world settings. I was often the go-to friend who supported friends through difficult moments and celebrated their achievements, which helped me see early on the value of presence, leadership, and trust in helping relationships.
After graduate school, I intentionally pursued diverse roles to better understand both people and systems. I worked in community mental health, brain injury services, and with children and families, while also stepping into leadership roles as an adjunct professor, working in mental health tech, and eventually serving as a CEO. These experiences gave me a front-row seat to how organizations function, and where they often fall short in supporting clinicians.
Over time, I realized that my leadership passion was rooted in creating environments where therapists feel supported, respected, and empowered to grow into the clinicians they want to be. I saw how sustainable, thoughtful leadership directly impacts both therapist well-being and client care.
That realization led me to start my private practice, not just as a business, but as a values-driven organization focused on strong leadership, clinical excellence, and genuine support for both clients and clinicians. That vision continues to guide how I lead today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like most meaningful work, there have been real challenges along the way. One of the biggest has been imposter syndrome, especially as I stepped into leadership and ownership roles. There were moments where I questioned whether I was *ready* or *qualified* enough, even when the evidence literally said otherwise.
Another challenge was learning how to shift from being a clinician to being a leader and business owner. Clinical training doesn’t always prepare you for managing systems, making difficult decisions, or holding responsibility not just for clients, but for a team. I had to learn how to tolerate uncertainty, make imperfect decisions, and still move forward with clarity and integrity.
Those struggles pushed me to grow (and continue to push me to grow) both personally and professionally. They helped shape my leadership style, grounded in transparency, support, and continuous learning, and reinforced why creating a healthy, supportive environment for both clients and clinicians matters so much to me.
We’ve been impressed with Better Minds Counseling & Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
To start off, I am so proud of my practice and my team! Better Minds Counseling & Services is a values-driven, virtual mental health group practice founded in 2022 with the foundation that quality client care begins with supported clinicians. Since its founding, Better Minds has grown into a thoughtful, compassionate, and highly skilled team of therapists serving adults across Pennsylvania and several neighboring states (6 total states at this moment).
We provide couples and individual therapy, group therapy, adult ADHD assessments, clinical consultations, licensure supervision, and workshops, with clinical specializations that include anxiety disorders (general, panic, phobias, social), OCD, trauma (narcissistic abuse, sexual trauma), chronic pain and illness, high-functioning and overachieving professionals, and identity-affirming care. Our approach emphasizes depth, collaboration, and evidence-based practices that truly help our clients better understand what’s happening in their minds and bodies so therapy feels empowering rather than pathologizing. We beleive that care is so important that there is never a waitlist and our therapists have availability within 8 business hours.
What sets Better Minds apart is the intention behind both our clinical work and our leadership. From the beginning, the practice was built to challenge the idea that clinicians must burn out in order to provide excellent care. We prioritize ethical decision-making, realistic caseloads, strong supervision, and a culture where therapists are supported as humans first. That focus on sustainability directly impacts the quality of care our clients receive.
When it comes to the Better Minds brand, I’m most proud of how trust-centered our growth has been. Since 2022, Better Minds has expanded not by sacrificing values, but by staying grounded in them; building a reputation for being a practice where clients feel safe, seen, and respected, and where clinicians feel empowered to grow into the therapists they want to be.
What I want readers to know is that Better Minds Counseling & Services is more than a therapy practice; it’s a carefully built ecosystem of care. Whether someone is seeking therapy, professional support, or community, our goal is to offer services that are high-quality, compassionate, and aligned at every level.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are several ways people can work with or collaborate with Better Minds Counseling & Services:
– Individuals seeking therapy are able to connect with our team through our virtual services, where we offer a free introductory meeting to help ensure a good fit before starting care. All those seeking services always meet with the therapist first instead of going in blind.
– For clinicians and organizations, collaboration is a big part of our work. We partner with universities, community organizations, and businesses to provide workshops, trainings, consultations, and mental health education. We also collaborate with other providers through referrals, professional consultations, and shared community initiatives.
– All those in support of therapy, you can also support our work by sharing our resources (available via website, our weekly newsletter, Instagram, our YouTube channel, and LinkedIn), attending events, engaging with our educational content, and helping normalize thoughtful, accessible conversations around mental health. At every level, collaboration with Better Minds is rooted in alignment, shared values, and a commitment to quality care.
