Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Stafford.
Hi Ashley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I run an Orthopedic Massage Therapy practice and wasn’t able to afford a website developer or marketing team. A few friends reminded me that I know enough html to build a wordpress site and even helped me when I ran into issues. I built my own site, learned SEO, and taught myself as much as I could. When I had questions I was lucky enough to know some really amazing and helpful people. Over the years I maintained it and learned even more. When the time came I paid it forward and helped a few clients who in turn told me i should charge for this. I thought most people knew how to build a basic site but when I realized I had a skill that wasn’t as common as I thought I started TBS. I had a few clients before 2020 hit and by that time my clients were doing well and I was getting a lot of referrals. The business got a make over in 2022 and has been mostly word of mouth ever since. This has allowed me to work with a lot of different businesses including opportunities such as becoming a founding member for “Lancaster Youth Action Board”.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been smooth. I had to learn new skills on the fly as things broke down. Thankfully I have had some incredible mentors such as Tim from TimNetworks.com who really helped me understand DNS so that I could migrate sites and get into things like MX Records to offer a complete package to my clients. There is also the ADHD challenge where I would get caught up and distracted from difficult tasks. Especially when I was first learning. I have developed systems since then that allow me streamline most of the work.
