Exploring Life & Business with Amanda Urgo of The-Back.Space

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Urgo.

Hi Amanda , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Becoming a chiropractor was always something that interested me, but felt like something that was out of reach. I felt this way until I was more than halfway through my undergraduate degree in business management and bored out of my mind. I did not know what my future held, so I circled back to chiropractic. Some people are jealous that I did things backwards. A lot of people who graduate chiropractic school have no idea what it takes to run a business or how to even get started, but that’s something I have some background in. My chiropractic journey started at Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, TX. This school focuses on evidence-based practices, which was something that drew me to the program. After graduation I was lucky to join a very successful office located in Houston called CORE Chiropractic, In 2022, I helped them become the “Best of the Best in Houston”. After a year with the practice, I moved back to PA due to some very traumatic personal incidents. Thankfully I had worked for a local chiropractic office before I went to chiropractic school and maintained that relationship while I was away. Fast forward to early 2025 and I leave that office to venture out and experience different avenues to practice chiropractic. Now I am with “The-Back.Space” in King of Prussia and feel like I have really found my footing in this profession.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not always been a smooth road. School was definitely a learning curve because school always came very easy to me, but this was more than just school it was a full time job. Even though I needed to change the way I study, I still felt like I was where I was supposed to be. I am a very resilient, motivated person, so with everything that life has thrown at me I did not let it sway me away from chiropractic. What brought me back to PA was something that took me away from a very successful, supportive practice in Houston and that was not a decision that I made lightly.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At The-Back.Space we specialize in a holistic wellness approach. Chiropractic care is a form of hands-on bodywork focused on restoring healthy motion to the joints of the spine — and ultimately supporting how the rest of the body moves and functions. Our goal is to educate everyone that comes into our studio about the power of chiropractic and how it should be part of everyone’s long-term wellness routine.

We are a cash-based practice where everyone is welcome and care is affordable for all. We don’t want anyone to believe that care is out of reach, but that does not mean that we do not believe what we’re doing is powerful, because chiropractic can benefit everyone in one way or another.

Every session begins with an assessment. We first look for any red flags, contraindications, or reasons someone may need to be referred to a medical professional. If chiropractic care appears appropriate, we then perform a hands-on evaluation to identify areas of restricted movement in the spine. Before doing anything, we explain what we’re seeing, preview what we would like to do, and ask for consent. Clients know exactly what the plan is before we begin. Once we have determined that the client can benefit from chiropractic care, then we provide what we call the chiropractic adjustment. An adjustment is a precise and controlled movement applied to a joint that is not moving well, which is considered a subluxation. The goal is to restore motion to that area of the spine so the body can move with less restriction and tension. Some of the many benefits that come with care are pain reduction, improved mobility, reduced stress, and better sleep.

Our work is simple in principle: help the body move the way it was designed to.

What does success mean to you?
Success isn’t about comparing yourself to others or how much money you make. Money will always be a motivating factor for people, but at the end of the day success is being proud and confident in the person you are after it all. Are you excited to get up out of bed every morning because of what you’re doing? Are you making a difference in other people’s lives? Are you learning from your failures and turning them into growth and triumphs? If you can answer yes to all of these, then I believe you can call yourself successful. I can confidently answer yes to them all.
