Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Humphreys.
Hi Alyssa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Gather & Graze Charcuterie was born out of a passion project. I grew up in an Italian American family where charcuterie was our Sunday, Christmas Eve, or just an afternoon snack. When charcuterie came to the spotlight in 2019 I had a moment of “where have you people been? This stuff has always been delicious!”
My husband and I are always hosting, so I naturally always made a charcuterie spread for our gatherings.
My friends and family stated asking me to make boards for their own parties and the idea hit me.
As things began to rapidly grow I saw an opportunity to make a business out of something I was so passionate about. Gather & Graze was officially born in February of 2022, and I was lucky enough to quit my full time job just 1 year later.
We cater weddings, baby showers, graduation parties, you name it! We are known for our custom grazing tables, our largest one to date spanning 16 feet long for PBS News.
We also offer our classic charcuterie boards & in house fudge for pick up, delivery, and nationwide shipping.
A key element of G&G are our charcuterie board curating workshops. We partner with wineries, breweries, and other small businesses all over the tristate area to host you and your family/friends with a good time. They’re truly our favorite thing to do. We even offer them privately in home!
The thing I am most proud of about Gather & Graze is knowing that I am a part of so many big moments of peoples lives. It hit me after the first wedding I catered – I pulled away from setting up an 8 foot table and thought “this is the most special day of these peoples lives and I got to be a part of it.”
Gathering & Grazing is not only for delicious food, it is for creating memories, good coversation, and enjoying every little moment.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We have had plenty of struggles just as any small business does. Prior to G&G I was the youth programming coordinator of the Greater Valley YMCA, and I ran their youth dance & gymnastics programs. AKA – NO business experience. I had (and still have!) many many calls to my business advisor asking him to explain the details to me because I started this out of a love for cheese, ha!
In all seriousness, my greatest hurdle has been learning the backend of a small business and managing the social media aspect. I am still learning every day and I am proud of how far we’ve come!
In the sense of our journey as a business, we have been so lucky to have built so much momentum from the start. We have very loyal and eager customers that have made our job fun and fulfilling. We use our customer feedback in every aspect of the business, and I think that is what has gotten us to this point.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Gather & Graze Charcuterie, we believe that food is meant to bring people together. What started as a passion for styling beautiful, shareable bites has grown into a full service charcuterie company serving gatherings big and small. Our boards & tables are thoughtfully curated using seasonal ingredients, premium cheeses, artisan meats, and unique pairings that surprise and delight. Whether you’re hosting a celebration, planning a corporate event, or sending a delicious gift, we make sure every detail feels personal and intentional.
What matters most to you?
Client experience is what matters most to me. Although we are technically a catering company, we try to take our customers entire experience into consideration. From the ordering process to the delivery, to enjoying the custom curated spread, it is all just as important!
