Daily Inspiration: Meet Amy Mink

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Mink.

Hi Amy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In 1996 my previous home was selected to be on a charity event house tour. Many local women began calling me for interior decorating help. So thus began my business. I love helping people create warm, layered inviting spaces…

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In 2008 the economy faltered which slowed my business down. Then I began painting vintage furniture as an additional service. The age of Instagram and social media keeps my name out there and I was featured two years ago on front cover of Yardley Living magazine.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have access to designer fabrics from the Philadelphia Designer Center, I also collaborate with a fabrication workroom to make custom pillows, cushions and a wide variety of window treatments. I use my multiple trade accounts to engage in personal shopping for rugs, art, accessories , furniture and lighting… to create a cohesive warm looking throughout one’s home. I also use local resources as well. Assisting with paint colors, wallpaper, coordinating fabrics… and also working with what people already have and love. I pull it all together.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Folks are downsizing, upsizing and change and mobility is a continuous part of life. My work within one’s home reflects my respect for a persons lifestyle, and so I strive to make their homes look authentic, and to create a timeless highly liveable environment.
