Conversations with Jeremiah Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Williams.

Hi Jeremiah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my career as a personal trainer, part-time in the evenings after my day job. It became clear to me early on that I needed to fully commit to this line of work if I wanted to make it as a professional coach. When I became self-employed, the next 10 years were a mix of group training for general fitness and personal training for specific capacities. I learned so much about working with a wide variety of demographics and skill sets in those early years. Over time, I found more satisfaction in working with people in a personal ways, where we could take more holistic approaches to achieve long lasting results. Now in my current business platform, I have three tiers of services: Education only, 1-on-1 personal training for fitness goals, and a mentorship for holistic health and fitness.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s never a smooth road to the kind of understanding and level of expertise I aspire to attain. As a business, it’s mandatory to get your message out there, deliver a consistent experience, and stay ahead of clients in their journey to and past their goals. As a professional coach, you have to be reliable, wise, and empathetically caring to all you work with. In other words, you’re heart has to be inspired to want to change peoples’ lives for their sake, not just to make money.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a professional health and fitness coach, or simply a wellness coach. I work with novice trainees to advanced athletes, anyone who is willing to do the work that will eventually radically change their wellness and subsequent quality of life. I’m known for my emphasis on teaching my clients how to manage the nuances of their self-care journey based on core principles of longevity and resilience. I’m humbled and honored to be asked to walk with individuals through a season of their lives when they need help to create new habits, learn new skills, and even believe in themselves more than they have in the past. I believe my standard of care and adaptability to each client’s personal context have given me a particular place of value in my client’s experience.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Firstly, having mentors is valuable. Having mentors who truly understand you and patiently walk with you through the stages of business and professional development is priceless. Having a special connection to my mentors through years of taking on one challenge after another has definitely kept me in this business after almost 20 years, still eager for more!
