Conversations with Erin Edith Baker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Edith Baker.

Hi Erin Edith, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
have been drawing and painting since I was about 18 months old. I studied at Penn State University where I recieved my Bachelors Degree in Drawing and Painting. From there I received my Masters in Health Promotion from American University and took a 7 year hiatus from the arts and dove into the wellness industry! It wasnt until 2021 that I came back to painting with the goal of it being my career. Now 6 years later, I feel lucky to have created many commissions for wonderful collectors, recieved a shoutout on the Golf Channel, have my paintings and prints in the TPC Scottsdale pro shop, and sent work to both Jordan Speith and Max Homa.

In addition to painting golf scenes with a feminine flair, I have been a live wedding and event artist for 4 years! I love being able to provide guests with a one of a kind personalized gift with my guest illustrations! I also create heirloom pieces for the couple to remember their wedding with live acrylic paintings of the first dance or ceremony. It is an honor to be a part of someone’s special day!

I started painting golf paintings with a feminie flair when my husband and I were decorating our daughters nursery. We really wanted a girly golf theme but there were not a lot of decor items that were girly yet centered around golf. Since then, I have really loved putting my own mark on a game that has always been a part of our household. I love painting golf scenes with pink and purple accents and honing in on the women of the game! Its even more fun now that I’ve build a community of female golfers and am learning to play the game myself!

My journey into live wedding art started when I reached out to a bride local to me asking if I could paint her wedding at no cost to see how it would all work! I was lucky enough to meet another wedding artist, Rachel Lucia, at this event and she really helped me to understand the business. From there and through social media I was able to aquire more clients! With the guest illustrations I had a bride ask if I could possibly do this format at her wedding instead of the traditional first dance painting. Even though I would be only a few weeks postpartum at the time, I said yes and had confidence in myself I would figure this style out! That wedding was a success and the bride shared my information on a local facebook group – everything took off from there and Ive been lucky enough to do many live guest illustration events since!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, I made the decision to go full time with my art only three months before I found out I was pregnant with my first child. 2026 has been my first year that I have not been pregnant, caring for a newborn or breastfeeding since I quit my job in 2021! Insanity. Raising two babies while you’re trying to build a business is far from easy but I’ve been determined to not let motherhood consume me and to show my kids that I can pursue my dreams WHILE caring for them. Neither are mutually exclusive.

Aside from the difficutlies of balancing motherhood and career I’ve had to overcome the fear of being seen. I find it difficult to show up on social media all the time, but all my best opportunities have come from putting myself out there!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Right now my work centers around women in the game of golf. For too long golf decor and the sport in general has been focused on men. I strive to bring feminity to golf with bright colors, florals and a nod to the fashion in and around the sport. I have really enjoyed this niche for its allowed me to share in the sport my husband loves, join an extremely welcoming and supportive group of women, and highlight aspects of the game I enjoy most.

I am extremely proud of my masters paintings that have garnered a lot of social media attention each year with the originals selling quickly and hundreds of prints making into women’s homes! They are my favorite to create each year as I scour social media looking for fashion trends and highlighting the outfits that I love.

As a live event artist I specialize in the guest illustrations! I have completed weddings all across PA, NJ and NYC and VA. I am so proud to have given countless guests a custom keepsake to remember their evening! I cant think of another thank you gift that guests will hang in their home for many years – these sketches are truly memorable!

In both aspects of my work my artistic style is what sets me apart. I believe in the female golf space I have a unique experience as a fan and player of the game that I am able to bring to life. I am highlighting what I enjoy, what I see, the colors I love and that is not something that can be replicated by another person or computer! The same goes with my guest illustrations! I have a unique impressionistic marker style that is my own! Many artists can illustrate guests, but we all do it in our preferred medium and in our own unique style!

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I lived in Center City Philadelphia and I always told people how much I loved the people of the city! Philly gets a bad rep but I truly feel like everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The food scene and walkability of center city was also amazing! Not to mention it is covered in murals – an artists dream!

I moved to lancaster about 2 years ago and love this area as well! There are much less skyscrapers and lot more corn fields but there is a large artistic population and a great food scene here as well!
