Community Highlights: Meet Elizabeth Herremans of Birds Nesting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Herremans.

Hi Elizabeth, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I didn’t start out thinking I’d build a business around real estate or athlete relocation. It really came from lived experience. My husband played in the NFL for over a decade, and during that time we moved, relocated, bought, sold, rented, downsized, upsized… all of it. I was the one managing the logistics, the homes, our dogs, being pregnant, the timing, the stress—while trying to make each new place feel like home as quickly as possible.

Through that process, I realized how overwhelming and impersonal relocation can be, especially for families who are already under pressure. There were a lot of gaps, especially for professional athletes and their families, where people needed more than just a transaction. They needed someone who understood the pace, the privacy concerns, the emotional side of moving, and the reality behind the scenes.

Eventually, I realized I had built a skill set and perspective that most people in real estate simply don’t have. That’s what led me to create Birds Nesting. Not as a traditional real estate business, but as a more thoughtful, full service approach to helping people land well during major transitions.

Today, I work primarily with professional athletes and their families, but the heart of the work is the same: advocating for people during major life transitions, simplifying the process, and helping them land somewhere that truly feels like home. It’s very personal to me because I’ve lived it, and that perspective shapes everything I do.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road, and most of the challenges have been professional. One of the biggest struggles has been realizing that not every system in real estate is built around what the client actually needs.

In high net worth and athlete spaces especially, there’s often a focus on selling the biggest or most expensive home, or leading with agent stats and sales volume. But what I’ve learned through my work is that those things don’t matter nearly as much to the client as people think.

Athletes, in particular, care about trust, discretion, and whether you truly understand their lifestyle and priorities. They want someone who listens, who can read between the lines, and who’s willing to advocate for them — not someone trying to “win” a deal.

Navigating that disconnect has been challenging at times, but it’s also clarified my values. It’s pushed me to build a business that’s relationship first, client driven, and rooted in long term trust rather than short term wins.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Birds Nesting is a boutique real estate and relocation brand built around one core idea: people deserve to be genuinely supported during major life transitions, especially when the stakes are high.

I specialize in working with professional athletes and high performing individuals, many of whom are navigating complex, high value real estate decisions under tight timelines and intense pressure. My work often sits at the intersection of luxury real estate, relocation, and lifestyle support. Where discretion, speed, and precision matter as much as the home itself.

What sets Birds Nesting apart is that the relationship comes first. I don’t lead with sales volume or accolades. I lead with listening. My clients aren’t looking for the biggest or most expensive home; they’re looking for the right one, and that requires a deep understanding of lifestyle, privacy, and long term goals.

Brand wise, what I’m most proud of is trust. Birds Nesting has grown through reputation and referrals, particularly within high level and professional circles. I’m known for being thoughtful, direct, and extremely detail oriented. Someone who can handle significant transactions while keeping the process calm, clear, and client driven.

What I want readers to know is that Birds Nesting isn’t about transactions for the sake of transactions; it’s about executing them well. Whether it’s a major purchase, a strategic move, or a full relocation, the goal is always the same: to create stability, clarity, and ease during moments that matter.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is trust. Trust between me and my clients, and trust in the process itself.

People often come to me during moments that carry a lot of weight – career transitions, major purchases, big life shifts; and I take that responsibility seriously. I want my clients to feel protected, heard, and confident that their best interests are always being prioritized, even when it’s not the easiest or most profitable path.

That value comes from lived experience. I know how disruptive and stressful transitions can be when the stakes are high, and I also know how much smoother they are when someone is genuinely advocating for you. For me, success isn’t just closing a deal. It’s knowing a client would trust me again, refer me, or call me when the next big decision comes up.

At the end of the day, relationships outlast transactions. Building something rooted in integrity and long term trust is what motivates me, and it’s what guides every decision I make.
