Today we’d like to introduce you to Samuel Sampson.
Hi Samuel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is really about growth, creativity, and learning to believe in myself. I was born in Liberia and grew up with a strong appreciation for creativity and self-expression. After moving to the United States, I began exploring different creative outlets, especially art, modeling, acting, and photography.
I started taking modeling and acting more seriously after receiving training through John Casablancas International, where I learned runway walking, stage performance, and improvisation. Since then, I’ve continued putting myself out there, building my portfolio, participating in fashion shows, and connecting with other creatives. One of the experiences that really pushed me forward was getting the opportunity to participate in New York Fashion Week.
At the same time, I’ve been studying Art & Design and developing my skills in photography and digital design. I’m still growing and figuring out exactly where my creative journey will take me, but I’m focused on building something that combines fashion, art, culture, and my faith. I want my work to inspire people and show that where you start doesn’t have to determine where you end up.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Moving to the United States and trying to build a life while also pursuing my creative goals has come with a lot of challenges. I’ve had to balance school, work, finances, and my creative career, sometimes without having all the resources or connections I needed.
There have also been moments when I questioned myself and wondered whether I was really capable of making it in modeling, acting, and art. But those challenges taught me to be persistent. Instead of letting setbacks stop me, I’ve learned to keep showing up, keep learning, and create opportunities for myself. Every audition, photoshoot, fashion show, and new creative project has helped me become more confident and disciplined. My faith has also been an important part of keeping me grounded and reminding me to keep moving forward.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a multidisciplinary creative working across modeling, acting, photography, and visual art. Modeling has become one of the biggest parts of my creative journey, and I’ve trained in runway walking, stage performance, and improv. I’ve had opportunities to participate in fashion shows and work with different designers and creative teams, including New York Fashion Week, which was a major milestone for me.
Alongside modeling and acting, I’m studying Art & Design and developing my skills in photography, digital design, and traditional art. I enjoy being involved in the creative process from different angles, whether I’m in front of the camera, behind it, or creating something from scratch.
What I’m most proud of is how much I’ve grown by simply continuing to put myself out there. I’m still building my career, but I think what sets me apart is that I don’t want to limit myself to one form of creativity. I want to bring together fashion, art, culture, storytelling, and my faith in a way that feels authentic to who I am.
What does success mean to you?
To me, success is not just about money, fame, or recognition. Success is being able to become the person God has called me to be while doing work that I genuinely love. I want to build a life where I can express myself through modeling, acting, art, photography, and fashion while also inspiring other people.
I also define success as growth. Every time I overcome a challenge, learn something new, take a risk, or create an opportunity that I once thought was out of reach, I consider that a form of success. My ultimate goal is to build something meaningful that represents my story, my culture, my creativity, and my faith.
