Check Out Matt Haber’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Haber.

Hi Matt, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hard to pin point exactly where my passion for antique and vintage goods came from specifically. I used to be fascinated by flea markets as a young kid. I eventually bought an old home that was originally built in the early 1800’s. And I use to repurpose old boxes for gifts, which led to someone telling me I should sell stuff like that. So I did and down the rabbit hole I went for buying and selling antique and vintage items and it sure is deep… But through that I started Moose & Sons.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road certainly hasn’t been rough but sear size of road is so much larger than I thought. I’m lucky enough to find all aspects of my business journey extremely fascinating as well. There is so much that goes into the antique business and you get what you out in. Between sourcing, photography, design, selling online, in person or a booth, social media, money management and everything in between. It can seem like a lot but when you can blend all that in your own way, you find your style.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Moose & Sons, I’m simply the middlemen of antique and vintage items from finding one home to another. I was lucky enough to transform a lifelong hobby into a passion for sharing stories hidden in the simplest and most forgotten items. I’m dedicated to curating quality pieces that reflect the artistry of the past, inviting our customers to appreciate the perfectly imperfect. I believe that we are known for making our interactions with Moose & Sons feel like an experience. Wether it’s people coming to our antique booth at the Slatington Marketplace or being invited to our barn to personally pick up items, I always want our customers to be happy with just seeing our efforts. I’m proud of trying to bring back business that doesn’t feel like a trap or profit happy. And I think the most exciting part is that we’re small now but I have big dreams for what Moose & Sons will become.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I think that most people wouldn’t expect that I haven’t been on social media for over a decade and even before that never really cared for it. But now I think my product photography and posts is something that is becoming recognizable for Moose & Sons. I’ve never been a big fan of social media for the obvious reasons but it has become a great resource for a small business and an artistic outlet that I never thought I would use. That being said I do like to showcase the antique and vintage items and personally stay behind the curtain.
