Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexi Styga.
Hi Lexi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started Sip and Shine when my daughter was just three months old. I wanted to find a way to stay home with her. I remember calling my mom and crying because I didn’t know what to do. My mom drove 6 hours to start my buisness that day. In the beginning, I grew by reaching out to local salons, schools, and small businesses and doing tea drops to introduce my drinks.
From there, my business has grown through the support of my community. Building real relationships and showing up consistently is what got me to where I am today. The people around me took a chance on me, supported me, and helped spread the word.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been the smoothest road. Starting a buisness with a three month old meant I was learning everything at the same time. On one hand, I was learning how to be a mother, and the other, I was learning how to run my buisness.
I was very lucky to have my mother’s support through it all. She helped me get started and always pushed me to be consistent, even when things felt overwhelming. Balancing motherhood and a buisness has been my biggest challenge, but over time I’ve found more of a flow.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I own Sip and Shine where I make low calorie energy teas and protein iced coffee. Everything I do is centered around community and creating something people can enjoy guilt free. I offer delievery, pop-ups, and event services, so I am able to meet people where they are. I’m known for building my buisness through tea drops. Where I find a local buisness or school and surprise the staff with drinks. That is still a big part of what I do to build my buisness. What I’m most proud of is all the time I get to spend with my daughter while building a buisness. Im so proud that I’ve been able to inspire and help other women, especially moms, that they can do this too. What sets me apart is my passion. I truly want to serve my community and take care of the people in it. I also want to show others that this is possible for them too. That they can build something of their own and create the life they want.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is my family. My husband, Nicholas, has always supported me in doing this. He has sacrificed so much for me, and I couldn’t do any of this without him always cheering me on.
My daughter, Violet, she is my world. She is the reason I started all of this. I would do anything to be present for every moment of her growing up. Being able to live a life where I dont miss those moments is what means the most to me.
