Check Out Faith Scott’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Scott.

Hi Faith, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been passionate about the beauty industry and dreamed of owning my own business. While earning a Business Management degree from West Chester University, I pursued that goal by attending Jean Madeline Aveda Institute in Philadelphia after graduation and becoming licensed in Pennsylvania after completing 1250 hrs of study. I quickly found my niche in barbering, refined my skills through mentorship and hands-on experience working in a barbershop, and after eight years in the industry, I opened The Cut Gallery Barbershop in 2023.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. Opening The Cut Gallery was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I had just three days to leave my previous shop and get everything ready, from building barber chairs and setting up payroll to insurance and state inspections. I spent a ton of money on marketing that didn’t work, navigated price increases with existing clients, and had to prove myself in a male-dominated industry. The first year was incredibly challenging, but I wouldn’t change any of it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work full time behind the chair alongside my team, specializing in men’s grooming, from skin fades to longer, textured styles. What sets The Cut Gallery apart is our blend of barbering and art. Every three months, we feature a new local artist in our rotating gallery, keeping the space fresh for our clients while supporting a variety of artists in our community. We create spaces for conversation rather than distraction, offering a calm, unplugged experience where clients can relax, connect, and enjoy both great haircuts and great artwork. I’m most proud of building a space that feels welcoming, creative, and community-driven.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is spending hours outside in the early 2000s, watching MTV, listening to music, and doing arts and crafts with neighborhood friends. I’ve always had a creative mind and spirit, and those experiences sparked my love for both art and music.
