Conversations with Starr Daniels

Today we’d like to introduce you to Starr Daniels.

Hi Starr, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey because I wanted to feel healthier and more confident. I didn’t have everything figured out, so I began taking it one step at a time. I lost around 70 pounds, then pregnancy and motherhood brought new challenges. My journey has been about more than weight…it’s also been about rebuilding my confidence and learning to make time for myself. Now I share what I’ve learned to encourage other women, especially moms, that change is possible even when life is busy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth journey the whole way. Some days feel easier, and then other days life gets busy or something throws off my routine. There have been times when I’ve felt discouraged, especially when I was putting in effort but not seeing the progress I hoped for, whether that meant the number on the scale wasn’t changing or I wasn’t noticing a physical difference yet. It can make you wonder if what you’re doing is working.

I’ve had to remind myself that progress doesn’t always show up right away, and it isn’t only measured by the scale. Sometimes it’s about keeping a promise to yourself, getting back on track after a hard week, or noticing that you feel stronger and have more energy. I’ve learned that one difficult day doesn’t erase the work I’ve already done.

As an entrepreneur, one challenge has been dealing with rejection. When you’re passionate about helping people, it can feel personal when someone isn’t interested, doesn’t respond, or decides it isn’t the right time for them. I’ve had to learn that a “no” doesn’t mean my story or what I offer has no value. People have their own reasons, timing, and goals. My job is to keep showing up, share my experience honestly, and be there for the people who are ready for support.

So, I’ve had struggles both in my own journey and in building something that lets me help others. But those challenges have taught me patience, resilience, and how important it is to keep going even when the results aren’t immediate.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a preschool teacher, and I love helping young children learn, build confidence, and develop at their own pace. I’m proud of the connections I make with my students and their families. Outside of work, I share my fitness/weightloss journey and encourage other moms/women to make time for themselves, too. My work and my personal journey both come from wanting to support and motivate others.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I don’t have one specific resource I always turn to. A lot of what I’ve learned has come from experience, staying open to new ideas, and figuring out what works for me.
