Life & Work with Denisha of Pennsylvania

Today we’d like to introduce you to Denisha.

Hi Denisha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My holistic journey started in 2022 I was always into natural options but I remember I went to a herbal shop to pick up a few herbs and a customer asked me what I was buying I said Blue Lotus and I told him the benefits and he asked if I knew what herbs was good for diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) I helped him and it came natural I was comfortable and confident in the knowledge I was sharing it just flowed. I never knew what a herbalist was or even considered it being a careers option . I just knew I had the inner knowings and I wanted to help educate others of the beauty of herbal medicine and the relief it could do for the mind and body . From that day I started healing my inner circle family and friends then people started to trust my words and I could back it up that’s when I became DJ the herbalist

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The struggles along the way for me was thinking I could only go so far because I didn’t have a formal degree. I was doing a lot of the helping and healing for free . Not putting value on my time and my words . Being afraid to unlock my true potential. The saying “What if you fail, but oh darling what if you fly” always replied in my mind . The other struggle was working a 9-5 knowing that I should be in business for myself but I got use to the security of the 9-5 and getting biweekly pay . I didn’t see a clear flow of income being a herbalist it was very up/down . I still had to make a living but what do you do when your passion isn’t making you a profit.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a herbalist that specializes in the mind, body, and soul I love the brain I grew a love for anatomy and physiology that’s the only way to really get down into the need of the body you can’t just treat the symptom.I do offer holistic consults, my specialty is reversing diseases and diagnosis with herbs and natural remedies . I create things that helps the body to heal whether it’s a tea to help with Insomnia, hair oils to treat Alopecia . Skin oil for eczema. My favorite is the mind because people who have PTSD, PMDD Anxiety, Depression as well as Postpartum get hope from herbs I recommend. I’m known for taking people off their medication and I’m proud of that .

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
We are at a time where we have access to a copious amount information it’s at our fingertips. Your mind is the best thing you’ll own. I can see the shift now and I’m excited about it people are shifting their lens when it comes to ways to heal the mind and body naturally not everything is a death sentence. People are starting to understand the input determines the output . Plant derived products , homeopathic medicine is a thing of the future . I always tell people our ancestors didn’t go out in the woods looking for NyQuil. I dont see holistic health being a trend I see it being a lifestyle for so many.
