Today we’d like to introduce you to Mel Brown.
Hi Mel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I loved doing nails at the age of 17. When COVID-19 hit it was in high demand. What salon is opened? I need my nails done. So in 2021 I graduated and got my license. I am the only Philadelphia mobile nail tech.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No smooth road. Iv been struggling to how to up my clientele. I juggle multiple jobs. Professional dancer,full time single mother. So IV been part time and even that at time I don’t book clients.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am specialized in acrylic nails, gel polish, overlays,dry & wet Pedicures. I am currently learning nail art and designs.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Creating a business is stressful it’s self. Just putting yourself out there. What makes you different from the salons and all other independent nail techs. For starts I am a mobile business. So I go to client homes.
