Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Repko.
Hi Chad, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a filmmaker from PA. After going through film school I went into having a normal life, after an unsuccessful marriage and having a son, I got remarried and both my son and wife got me back into the creative world of filmmaking. Part of my family is from Ocean City Maryland, and my summers as a child were going down to OCMD. One of my short films got into the Ocean City Maryland film festival which allowed me to take my family back down to OCMD. That kicked off a very successful festival run for many of our films, and now my son is also venturing into making his own art.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth rode, as one ages the resources and motivation to complete creative projects gets harder and harder.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I make short films, The genre ranges from comedy to horror. I am most proud of a short comedy series we have created which has my son and his best friend solving crimes. I’m not sure what I could say sets me apart from others, but I do have a love and passion for filmmaking and I believe that comes off in my work.
How do you think about luck?
Not sure I believe in luck, but I suppose there is an element of luck in just being able to have someone see your work.
