Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Liggins.
Hi Taylor, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all began after I had my first son during covid. I was struggling with Postpartum Depression, Anxiety and OCD. I knew after going through my own struggles I wanted to specialize in perinatal mental health being a licensed psychotherapist. I received my training through Postpartum Support International and received my certification thereafter. While living in Maryland I had a dream of opening a “one stop shop” for parents to turn to when they are going through a tough season. My husband’s job moved us to Pennsylvania and I was struggling with a 9 month old and 3 year old. Then, I began to realize how this area (Stroudsburg/Pocono region) does not have many resources for pregnancy, postpartum or parents and decided to open Everlight Collective. Currently we offer perinatal psychotherapy, pelvic floor therapy, lactation consulting, mommy and me workout classes, yoga classes, support groups, and workshops.
The name Everlight, represents a steady glow of hope, warmth and guidance that never fades. Just as a light carries us through our darkest nights, our collective exists to walk alongside you, offering care, connection and community.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Struggling as a parent and business owner is definitely not a smooth road. There was a lot of sacrifices and balancing time being a mother as well as a business owner. Boundaries were key for me in my career.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I graduated Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Clinical Mental Health counseling in 2016 and I am a perinatal psychotherapist. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Maryland and Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. I received my certification for perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International. I provide therapy sessions in person and virtually. I am most proud of following my dreams and taking a leap in opening Everlight Collective.
I volunteer for Postpartum Support International by facilitating a support group once a month and serve on the Postpartum Support International Pennsylvania Chapter board.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I would love to add more services at Everlight Collective and potentially span to other areas.
