Rising Stars: Meet Marley Beacham of Pennsylvania

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marley Beacham.

Hi Marley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Marley Beacham is a mixed media artist based in Philadelphia. She began her artistic journey in 2020, drawing inspiration from her childhood passion for art. Her work reflects influences from vintage music, advertising, and fashion, infused with a modern, dreamlike quality. Through collage, Marley expresses her vibrant inner world of sounds, shapes, and colors, skillfully repurposing images to convey unique meanings. As she states, “With art, I can express everything I cannot articulate with words.”

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I haven’t really had many challenges on my art journey. I will say I have received a lot of no’s with art gallery submissions, but I feel like betting in myself has created a lot of cool opportunities. I would say I made a lot of “bad” art before I got better.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do collage artwork, digital art, mixed media visual graphic design. I think i’m most known for my early collage work and now my graphics. I think my work is very emotional/dreamlike which I believe is my signature, and sets me apart from other artists.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Not always making things about trying to make money.
