Joann, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Soul Shine began in 2017 with a simple vision: to create a welcoming space where people could explore, heal, learn, and connect. What started as a dream by owner Joann Ready has grown into a thriving metaphysical and holistic community dedicated to helping others find their own path toward balance, wellness, and spiritual growth.
From day one, Soul Shine has been built on the belief that everything carries energy and intention. Every crystal, candle, herb, piece of jewelry, book, and sacred tool is carefully selected with purpose. Whether someone is searching for guidance, healing, comfort, or simply curiosity, they are welcomed through our doors with an open heart.
Over the years, Soul Shine has grown far beyond a retail shop. Today, we proudly offer one of the area’s most diverse selections of crystals, ranging from small tumbled stones that fit in your pocket to magnificent specimens standing nearly five feet tall. Our shelves are filled with incense in countless fragrances, candles, herbs, jewelry, books, tarot and oracle cards, sound healing instruments, and unique treasures designed to inspire and uplift.
At the heart of Soul Shine is our team of dedicated practitioners, each bringing their own gifts and expertise to our community.
Tracy Cornelius serves as our Sound Healer, Yoga Instructor, and Reiki Master/Teacher. Through sound healing sessions, yoga classes, and Reiki, Tracy has helped countless individuals find relaxation, healing, and renewed energy.
Alyssa Cost-Byrne is our Medium, Folk Practitioner, and Intuitive Card Reader. Her compassionate guidance and intuitive abilities have provided comfort, clarity, and insight to many seeking answers and connection.
Nikki O’Malley, our Master Kambo Practitioner, offers transformative healing experiences and supports individuals on their wellness journeys through this sacred practice.
Together, our practitioners provide a variety of services including Reiki, Sound Healing, Mediumship, Intuitive Card Readings, Yoga, Meditation, Kambo, and Infrared Sauna sessions.
Through the years, Soul Shine has weathered challenges, celebrated milestones, welcomed new faces, and built lasting friendships. What has never changed is our commitment to creating a space where everyone feels accepted, supported, and encouraged to grow.
Today, at our home on 80 North Mountain Boulevard in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, Soul Shine continues to evolve while remaining true to its roots. We are more than a shop—we are a community. A place where healing meets learning, where curiosity becomes discovery, and where every item, service, and interaction is offered with intention.
As we celebrate our journey from 2017 to today, we are filled with gratitude for every customer, student, client, practitioner, and friend who has been part of our story. Your support has helped Soul Shine become what it is today.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any small business, Soul Shine has had its share of challenges along the way. But one thing that has always guided us is our commitment to staying positive and moving forward, no matter what obstacles came our way.
In 2020, like so many businesses, we were forced to close our doors during the COVID pandemic. It was a difficult and uncertain time, but we were incredibly fortunate to have such a loyal and supportive community. When we reopened, our customers returned and helped us continue the journey.
There were other hurdles as well. For several months we operated without heat and air conditioning, making conditions far from ideal. Yet through it all, we kept showing up, doing our best, and focusing on the people who walked through our doors.
Perhaps the biggest challenge came when we were told we had to leave our longtime location. While it was painful at the time, what felt like a setback turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The move led us to our new home at 80 N. Mountain Boulevard, a space that truly feels like it was meant for us.
