Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Kreider.
Hi Laura, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My dream of owning a business actually started when I was young. I grew up in a family where many people owned their own businesses, and I always thought it would be so fun to take something you love and truly make it your own. I went to college for Digital Communication and User Experience Design, thinking I might eventually start a business in website design or something similar.
Right out of college, I began working for a warehouse and logistics company in their marketing, communications, and employee engagement department. A big part of my role involved planning events and creating experiences for employees that made them feel valued and excited to be at work. Through that, I realized how much I loved serving people, creating meaningful experiences, and finding ways to make someone’s day a little better. That’s when the idea of starting some kind of vendor business first began to take shape.
Coffee had always been something I loved, and during that time I started roasting my own coffee beans as a hobby. I quickly fell in love with the process and dreamed about one day having my own mobile coffee business where I could roast my own beans and serve people something that felt fresh, unique, and personal. As work became busier, though, that dream slowly moved to the back burner.
At the same time, my husband and I were trying to start our family. After about a year of trying, I found out I was pregnant, and I remember thinking, “This is perfect.” I imagined becoming a stay-at-home mom while running my little coffee business on the side. But just a few weeks later, we found out we had lost the baby due to an ectopic pregnancy, and I had to undergo emergency surgery because of internal bleeding. It was an incredibly heavy and unexpected season. One moment I was at work dreaming about what my future life could look like, and the next I was in an operating room wondering how everything had changed so quickly.
Through that season, I leaned heavily on my faith. I began to feel like God was putting it on my heart to revisit the business I had dreamed about for years, but this time to make it about more than just coffee. I wanted to create something that could serve people, create genuine connection, and bring hope and awareness to women and families walking through infertility, pregnancy loss, and other difficult seasons.
That is where The Unwavering Cup was born. My husband has supported this dream from the very beginning and actually built the coffee cart for me. What started as a childhood dream of owning a business and a hobby of roasting coffee has become something much more meaningful. Today, The Unwavering Cup allows me to combine my love for coffee and serving people with something deeply personal to my story and my faith.
My hope is that when someone gets a coffee from The Unwavering Cup, they leave feeling a little more seen, encouraged, and connected. The heart behind the business is a reminder that no matter what season we find ourselves in, God’s love remains steady, constant, and unwavering.
From a young age, I have loved serving people and connecting with them on a real and meaningful level. I have always been drawn to honest conversations and finding beauty in both joy and hardship. That desire to love and serve others is something God placed on my heart.
When I was 11 years old, I experienced deep loss when my older brother passed away from brain cancer. That season shaped my faith early on and taught me that even in pain, God’s love remains steady and present. It became a foundation that would carry me through future seasons of hardship.
When I got married, my husband and I dreamed of growing our family. What we expected to be a joyful season quickly became one marked by infertility and loss. After being diagnosed with endometriosis and PCOS, we faced challenges I never imagined. It was a season filled with unanswered prayers, physical pain, and deep grief.
That season changed me. It stretched my faith and forced me to cling to God in ways I never had before. There were moments of heartbreak and disappointment, but there were also moments where I felt God’s presence more clearly than ever. I learned that even when dreams are delayed or interrupted, His love remains unwavering.
The Unwavering Cup was born out of that season. This coffee cart became a way for me to take what God was teaching me through infertility and loss and turn it into something that serves others. It is a space created for connection, encouragement, and hope.
When you get a coffee from The Unwavering Cup, I hope that you feel seen, loved, and reminded that no matter what season you are in, God is with you. His love is steady, constant, and unwavering.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges of owning a small business is wearing so many different hats. You are the owner, the employee, the marketing team, the accountant, and so much more. Trying to balance all of those roles while also growing the business and keeping expenses low can be a lot, especially when the business is your income for the year.
Some days are definitely more stressful than others, and there are times when I have to remind myself that growth takes time and that I can’t do everything at once. But even on the hard days, I know it is worth it. It’s worth it when I get to interact with my customers, attend events, and see how much people enjoy having The Unwavering Cup there. Most of all, it’s worth it when I get to use my business to bring awareness to infertility and be there for women and families who are walking through similar seasons.
The challenges have definitely taught me a lot, but they have also reminded me why I started in the first place.

The Unwavering Cup is a mobile coffee cart serving Central Pennsylvania, bringing specialty coffee and meaningful connection to private events, weddings, corporate events, community gatherings, and local pop-ups. We offer espresso drinks, cold brew, chai, refreshers, and other specialty drinks, with seasonal and custom drink options that allow us to make each event feel unique. I also roast our coffee beans myself, which is something I really love and am proud to incorporate into the business.
But The Unwavering Cup is about so much more than coffee. What sets us apart is the heart behind the brand. The business was born out of my own experience with infertility, pregnancy loss, and learning to trust God through difficult seasons. I wanted to create a business that could serve people while also creating space for connection, encouragement, and awareness around something that is often difficult to talk about.
Our motto is “Steady in Every Season,” which really captures what I want the brand to represent. Whether someone is celebrating a wedding, grabbing coffee at a local pop-up, or simply having a difficult day, I want The Unwavering Cup to be a reminder that they are seen, loved, and not alone.
One of the things I am most proud of is that the brand has stayed true to that purpose as it has grown. I’m proud that something that started as a dream to own a coffee business has become a way for me to serve others, build genuine relationships, and use my story to bring awareness and encouragement to women and families walking through infertility and loss.
At the end of the day, we’re serving coffee, but I hope people remember how they felt when they interacted with The Unwavering Cup—welcomed, encouraged, and reminded that God’s love remains steady through every season.

I would encourage you to remember why you started. There are so many moving parts that come with owning a business, and it can be easy to get caught up in numbers, social media, or trying to keep up with everyone else. Coming back to the purpose behind your business can help you keep going when things get hard.
