Today we’d like to introduce you to Dustin Deimler.
Hi Dustin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Well, my name is Dust Deimler and I’m the proud owner of True Self Tattoo. I’ve always been into the “counter-culture” scene to a degree. So when I turned 18, I got my first tattoo and was hooked from there. At the time I was skateboarding a lot and hanging out in tattoo shops. It was about 2005 when I started to take my art seriously and to pursue tattooing. From there, I worked in a few shops and always had a dream of owning my own shop. In April 2023, True Self Tattoo opened its doors and it’s been smooth sailing since! Twenty one years later, I’m still loving this industry and growing with it.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It took some time to get where I am at. Once things started to click, I made a dream become a reality. I was ready to open a few years earlier, but Covid set me back a little. Once everything started to open up and get back to normal I was back on track. Other than that, everyone has everyday struggles, it’s just to push through them and you can achieve anything.
As you know, we’re big fans of True Self Tattoo. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
True Self Tattoo is a tattoo shop located in the heart of downtown Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. We have been open since April 2023 and still kicking. We wanted to provide quality work to central Pennsylvania and all the surrounding areas. We try to hold ourselves to a very high standard with our work, cleanliness, and everything else we do. True Self Tattoo will always be evolving and growing with the times. It’s nice to be out somewhere and see the shop logo, stickers, shirts, or anything else that helps promote us or gets our name out there.
Any big plans?
The future is unwritten, but we are here to forge our path in this crazy world. One thing is for certain we tell people… “Be True. Stay Inked”
