Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Marcella.

Jennifer, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was in the automotive industry for 20 years as a single mother of 2 when my daughter graduated high school she stated she wanted to go to massage School. we talked it over and visited a couple schools all over an hour from our home the next struggle was how she would get there as she didn’t drive. having not the best week or month at my current employer i started to think about going back to school as well. we made the decision to go together but not tell anyone we were mother and daughter. as the oldest student in a class of 10 I wasn’t sure if i was ready to go back. my daughter and i almost made it to the end of school before anyone realized we were mother and daughter. we graduated in December 2019 and we just had to wait for our state license to come. I secured a position at a local chiropractic office still waiting on my license I wasn’t able to work yet. February 2020 i was able to start working finally however March 2020 Covid sent my new career to a halt. everyday i questioned if I made the right career choice while sitting Infront of our tv wondering can i work yet. at the end i found myself at a high-end luxury spa as a lead massage therapist. in April 2023 i started thinking i should open my own studio started to do mobile massage while looking for a permeate location September 2024 that location became available in a small town Of Gap Pa and Salt & Soul Therapeutic Massage was Born with not a single client in the books fast-forward 18 months and i have a stacked book a cliental of over 300 and have now enrolled into the esthetics program to offer more services and grow into a new location that is still yet to be found. my goal in the end will be to offer a salt room massage esthetics and other services while keeping cost low and the value of selfcare shouldn’t be a luxury it should be affordable for all

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I have always been a huge germaphobe and so being in a career touching strangers has baffled my friends and family, but this was always my calling as a hippier vibe person helping other is the most rewarding path and this career has let me grow personally and help others. my clients can’t believe i was in the automotive world as they say it’s as if ive been doing this forever. it is truly something I love and am passionate about so like they say do something you love, and you will never feel exhausted from work
