Hidden Gems: Meet John Majersky of 3DReactions

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Majersky.

Hi John, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We founded 3DReactions in 2016 with a passion for combining technology and creativity. In the beginning, we explored a variety of emerging technologies, including 3D printing, 3D scanning, and software development. One of our early projects involved creating 3D scans of people and pets, allowing customers to interact with digital versions of themselves through voice commands, augmented reality experiences, and even simple holographic displays. Those projects taught us a tremendous amount about digital imaging, software engineering, and precision manufacturing.

As we continued to experiment with different technologies, we discovered a growing demand for custom lenticular printing. We began producing custom lenticular images featuring 3D, flip, motion, and morph effects, and quickly earned a reputation for producing high-quality work with fast turnaround times. Over time, we realized that lenticular printing was where our passion—and our greatest opportunity—really existed.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we made the decision to focus entirely on lenticular printing. A few years later, we narrowed our focus even further to specialize exclusively in custom lenticular photo flips. Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, we chose to become experts in one product and continually improve every part of the customer experience.

To support that vision, we invested in a UV flatbed printer that allows us to print directly onto lenticular sheets, eliminating the need for traditional paper laminations. We also developed our own proprietary software to automate much of the production process, from image preparation and interlacing to quality control. Building our own technology has allowed us to increase consistency, improve quality, and efficiently handle both single custom orders and larger business projects.

We have continued to invest heavily in our website so customers can personalize nearly every aspect of their order without needing to contact us. Customers can choose image orientation, flip direction, rounded corners, backing options such as magnetic or adhesive, add personalized text, and even select which image appears when viewed straight on. Behind the scenes, our software automatically prepares uploaded images, analyzes text placement to help prevent it from being hidden by the lenticular lenses, and streamlines production from order to print.

Today, while we also sell through Amazon and Etsy, our website remains our primary sales channel. We continue to focus on developing new technology that makes custom lenticular printing easier, faster, and more accessible. One of our upcoming projects is launching our proprietary lenticular interlacing software as an online tool so that photographers, designers, and hobbyists can create their own professional-quality lenticular images.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. I don’t think I’ve ever met a small business owner who would honestly describe entrepreneurship as a smooth road. Every stage of growth brings a new set of challenges, and we’ve certainly experienced our share.
Although we both had experience managing large teams and complex projects in the corporate world, running a small manufacturing business required learning an entirely different skill set. We had to navigate everything from bookkeeping, taxes, and regulatory compliance to equipment maintenance, shipping logistics, and building reliable supplier relationships.
One of our biggest challenges involved sourcing the specialized lenticular sheets that make our products possible. When we were producing only a handful of orders each week, buying materials from U.S. distributors was straightforward. As demand grew into hundreds and sometimes thousands of lenticular prints, we needed to import large quantities directly from manufacturers overseas.
That process came with a steep learning curve. Our first large shipment from China arrived with many sheets scratched, bent, and improperly packaged. Because we already had customer orders waiting, we had to find creative ways to use as much of the material as possible while working closely with the supplier to improve future shipments. The experience taught us the importance of establishing clear quality standards and not relying on a single supplier. Today, we source premium lenticular sheets from trusted international partners and have a much more resilient supply chain.
Shipping was another major challenge. Lenticular prints are delicate, so developing packaging that could consistently survive the postal system took a great deal of testing and refinement. Over time, we designed packaging and shipping methods that have dramatically reduced damage during transit and improved the overall customer experience.
Looking back, every challenge forced us to improve our business. Whether it was strengthening our supply chain, refining our production process, or improving how we package and ship our products, each obstacle ultimately made us more efficient, more resilient, and better able to serve our customers.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At 3DReactions, we specialize exclusively in custom lenticular photo flips. Rather than offering dozens of unrelated printing services, we have chosen to focus on doing one thing exceptionally well. Every product we create is designed to produce a smooth, high-quality flip effect that brings photos to life as the viewing angle changes.
What truly sets us apart is the experience we’ve built for our customers. Many traditional lenticular printers still rely on quote requests and manual order processing. We wanted to make ordering as simple and intuitive as buying any other personalized product online. Customers can upload their own photos, choose which image appears first, select horizontal or vertical flip direction, choose portrait or landscape orientation, add rounded corners, magnetic or adhesive backing, and even personalize the back of the print—all without having to contact us.
Behind that simple ordering experience is a great deal of technology. We have invested years into developing our own software to automate image preparation, production, and quality control. Our proprietary lenticular interlacing software allows us to continually refine image quality while making our manufacturing process faster and more consistent. We have also developed tools that automatically analyze customer artwork to identify potential issues before production begins, helping us deliver the best possible finished product.
Today, customers order from us through our website as well as Etsy and Amazon, but our website remains the center of our business because it provides the most complete customization experience.
What we’re most proud of isn’t just the technology we’ve built—it’s the fact that every improvement ultimately benefits our customers. Whether someone is ordering a single personalized gift or a large business project, our goal is to make the process simple, reliable, and produce a product that exceeds expectations. We are strong believers in providing value for our customers dollar, that is what keeps them coming back
Looking ahead, we’re excited to continue pushing the technology even further. One of our next major projects is launching our online lenticular interlacing platform, giving photographers, designers, and hobbyists the tools to create professional-quality lenticular images of their own.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
If I had to choose one characteristic that has contributed most to our success, it would be our commitment to putting the customer first. Every decision we make is based on one simple question: **”If I were the customer, what would I want?”** That philosophy influences everything we do.

First, we know that customers don’t want to wait weeks for a personalized product. Through continual investments in our technology and production processes, we’re typically able to produce and ship a custom lenticular print within one to three business days. Speed matters, but only if it’s paired with quality.

We also believe customers should feel they received exceptional value for their money. Our goal has never been to be the cheapest option; it’s to provide a product and experience that consistently exceeds expectations. When customers receive their order, we want them to feel it was worth every dollar they spent.

Customer service is another cornerstone of our business. We treat every order as though it were our own. That mindset makes many decisions straightforward because we simply ask ourselves what we would expect if we were in the customer’s position. We believe that approach has helped us earn hundreds of five-star reviews across Etsy, Amazon, Google, and our own website.

Finally, we’re passionate about craftsmanship. Every lenticular print is individually reviewed before it leaves our shop. We carefully optimize customer images, adjust color and contrast when appropriate, and precisely align the images to create the smoothest possible flip effect. If something isn’t right, we’ll remake it. Those extra steps may not always be visible to the customer, but they make the difference between an average product and one that truly impresses people.

At the end of the day, our success comes from combining technology with craftsmanship while never losing sight of the person who placed the order. If we consistently create a product we’re proud to put our name on, the rest tends to take care of itself.
