Hidden Gems: Meet Kellie Haenn of Alsies of West Chester

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kellie Haenn.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Prior to Alsies, I was a special education teacher for 5 years. After I had my first son, I decided I wanted to leave the teaching field so that I could be home with my kids. During these 8 years, I got my first taste of entrepreneurship by starting a residential cleaning that I managed from my home. I learned so much from starting this small business but wanted to get back to my roots- working with kids and giving back to the community. That’s where Alsies come in! Not only is this such a fun business but we have fundraising options that allow us to help communities raise money for organizations such as schools, non-profits, etc.
I am still in my first season and learning a lot! But excited to see where this journey takes me.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Most of the struggles came early on from the red tape that you need to work around when it comes to acquiring permits and licenses from local municipalities and organizations. It takes time, patience and attention to detail. Make sure to do your research!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Alsies of West Chester?
