Hidden Gems: Meet Joe Adams of Adams Mechanical Service LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Adams.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The Adams name has been in the Plumbing Industry since 1923. I am a Master Plumber with licences in PA, MD and DE and a Master HVACR license in NJ.

I am a third generation plumber. My son who is currently 14 is also training to be a plumber as well and will take over the family business once he is older.

I have more than 35 years of experience in residential, commercial and industrial services, I worked for a major player in the Philadelphia market starting as a Business Development Manager. I went into the Plumbing Estimating department where I ran the plan and spec department as well as the design build projects.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Having a family with the commitments that come with that has been challenging. The best part of owning the business is having my son work with me everyday. I was fortunate to have had incredible metors along the way has helped. The biggest struggle I face is getting work. I am a master of my craft so the work is not usually the issue.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
About Adams Mechanical Service LLC
Adams Mechanical Service is a licensed and insured plumbing company serving Doylestown, Plumstead, and the greater Philadelphia area. We handle the full range of residential plumbing, with a real specialty in whole-home water treatment and filtration.
What sets us apart
When you call Adams Mechanical, you deal directly with the owner — not a rotating cast of subcontractors. That means real accountability on every job. But what we’re really about is solving problems. Anyone can swap out a part; we take the time to figure out what’s actually going on and fix it right, so you’re not calling someone back in six months for the same issue.
Water treatment is a big part of that. A lot of the problems homeowners live with — bad-tasting water, staining, buildup, hard water wearing out fixtures and appliances — are fixable. We diagnose the real cause and put in a solution that lasts, then keep it running with straightforward service plans.
What we want your readers to know
We’d rather earn a customer for the next ten years than rush one job. Honest assessments, upfront pricing, and work we stand behind. Whether it’s a repair, an installation, or getting your home’s water right, we’re here to help. Reach out at 215-896-4538.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Taking care of the customer is the most important reason we exist. Solving their issues quickly and reliably is the best value we offer.
