Hidden Gems: Meet Elyse Lupin of Elysium Marketing Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elyse Lupin.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Fun fact: I began my career as an NBC Page, a position made famous by Kenneth on “30 Rock” that has an acceptance rate of less than two percent. Through that role, I gained unparalleled experience working on shows such as Today and Saturday Night Live and felt particularly drawn to the marketing strategy and tactics that I saw in action.

That opportunity drove me to pursue additional positions that would help me build my knowledge base and hands-on experience in marketing. Moving back to my hometown of Philadelphia, I next became Marketing and Promotions Manager for Radio Disney and further honed my marketing skills and expertise in roles with New Balance Athletic Shoe, where I focused on consumer insights, and Comcast, where I led product and direct marketing.

Confident that my unique marketing know-how and experience could drive valuable results for growing businesses, I founded Elysium Marketing Group in Ambler in 2015. Today, Elysium is a full-service marketing agency well known for its expertise in digital marketing, public relations, and creative services.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Every business owner knows the ride isn’t always smooth. The highs fuel you, and the lows shape you. COVID brought lows none of us were prepared for. Seeing our clients (especially the restaurants) in distress hit hard, and finding ways to hold our team together when everything felt uncertain was one of the most defining challenges we’ve faced.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As the agency continued to grow, I identified a particular niche for providing services to franchise and restaurant brands, a distinction that has enabled Elysium to earn recognition for excellence among companies in these spaces. We just moved into new office space in Ambler to accommodate our growing team, with experts in digital marketing, SEO, public relations, and design collaborating on individual client account teams, in-office four days a week. For the past two years, Elysium has been especially honored to be recognized among Entrepreneur’s Top Franchise Suppliers, a ranking based solely on client evaluations.

I am very proud of our team’s commitment to client relationships and believe it sets us apart from other marketing agencies. We hear often from clients how supportive, collaborative, and responsive our team members are and I believe that is not a skill you can teach but is an innate drive toward providing the very best to our clients and to each other.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Two books I return to regularly are Scaling Up by Verne Harnish and Accelerating Your Agency by Jason Swenk. What I love about Scaling Up is that it’s not a one-and-done read. It meets you where you are, and the advice that resonates at two employees hits differently at 15, making it a resource worth revisiting at every stage of growth.

Accelerating Your Agency speaks directly to the unique pressures of running an agency. Swenk doesn’t just diagnose the problems; he hands you the playbook to solve them. His insights were compelling enough that I eventually joined his Mastermind, which says more than any review could.
